  • Chili Question

I made Chili for dinner and added 2 cans of tomato sauce to about 3 pounds of ground beef. I used two packets of the seasoning and didn't add any kidney beans (My kids won't eat it if I add the beans) am I allowed to have a small amount of this?

    Re: Chili Question

Check the ingredients on your seasoning mix. As long as they are acceptable, yes you can have it. You'll need to count all the carbs and then divide the recipe so that you know the carb count for the portion you eat.

I make chilli on occasion...with Beans!

Thanks! I'm not going to have too much just a little because I could probably go overboard with it.

        Re: Chili Question

Did you plug the ingredients into fitday.com and see what the numbers were like? Also, if the ingredients are legal and you are eating them within legal amounts, then the food is typically legal.

yep if your ingredients are legal then your food is legal.

check the spice mik packet though as many have sugar and corn syrup solids in them

            Re: Chili Question

I took a look at the ingredients on the spice packet and it says, Chili pepper, garlic and other spices. It contains less than 1 gram of sugar and less than 1 carb.

              Re: Chili Question

              if all it has are
Chili pepper, garlic and other spices
              then it is legal

oh and check for the number of total servings it makes as those numbers are for a serving not the whole packet
