Back again. Another week has flown by - (a sign of old age!).
I'm not depressed - but I'm stuck. Same weight for 3 weeks now. And basically same measurement (very teeny little change). I can't figure out what is happening!
I had to travel last week for 3 days. I managed it well, I think. I stayed at a colleagues place - so I went to the grocery upon arrival and bought stuff for breakfast, lunches, and snacks. Everyone thought I was weird - but they already think that so no big change there.
Hardest part - I thought it would be going out for dinner - but it wasn't. Everyone was ordering Wine, Beer, appetizers, bread, and desserts. Amazing. I was shocked that I easily sat there and drank an entire pitcher of water, had a steak with veg, and that's it. Funny - I ordered an appetizer of mushrooms stuffed with cheese. When it came it was fried. I just gave the whole plate to my colleague and he shared his caesar salad with me. People were like "Gosh, can't you even TRY them? Even take a little bite." I said, No - it isn't what I thought it was - so I'll just skip them thanks...
So - what is happening? Why am I stuck? I didn't do very well adding in the dairy (only once during the week) because I was travelling and the yogurt in Ireland (they had like a 100 choices) all had over 10 carbs per serving. EEK. Skip that!
The last three days I've even dropped dairy (besides eggs) totally to see if I can get the scale to move. Nix. Nada. Nothing.
My last week averages: 17 carbs per day, 1454 calories, Percentages 62/30/7 (YEAH this is good!) 2066 burned in calories (lower than normal due to travelling but I did manage 2 - 1 mile swims and a 2.5 hour walk plus a few extras (pilates, biking, yoga, etc.))
What can I do ? This is getting a little worrying. You know - that nagging 'other' voice in your head saying CONSTANTLY "You can eat 'normally' and see these kinds of results" BLAH BLAH BLAH. I've told 'her' to shut up enough times that people are starting to stare... HE HE!
OK, if anyone has some suggestions how to get me off this plateau I'd welcome them! I've tried no dairy, less calories (1000), more calories (1900), I've been up to 30 grams of carbs, down to 15. LOADS of exercise, moderate exercise, etc. I'm taking LOADS of supplements (the usual, plus extra Niacin and Chromium. I think this week I'll try adding L-Glutamine and L-Carnitine like it says in the DANDR).
I'm NOT giving up... NO WAY. I'm fighting the good fight here... But if you have some weapons, please share! I'm only 9 weeks in and 3 of them are at a stall? Craziness....
Thanks for the motivation guys. I'm feeding my body healthy, nutritious food, I'm eating 4 - 5 times a day, I'm exercising, and I'm becoming more healthy. I'm DETERMINED when my daughter gets back from China next July that she WILL NOT recognise me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a great week!
