  • Sugar Free Chocolate

I was working last night and was having a serious chocolate craving so I decided to pick up some sugar free chocolate carmel pecan bites we have, they have 1 net carb per every 3 pieces and it's made with Splenda. I hope it was ok to have those as I didn't see the scale go up today or anything like that. I'm not sure why I'm having these cravings, TOM is coming soon so that may be it because I usually crave sweet and salty foods around that time.

I've eaten those before. They're good. I can't remember the name of them, but I find then near the pharmacy in the grocery store. They're for diebetics, that's why they're in the pharmacy section. You'll see a display with bags hanging from it. That's the stuff!!!

THey rock! They're made by Russell Stover, they're called Pecan Delights.

Almost all of those "sugar free" "splenda sweetened" candies contain sugar alcohols. If the sugar alcohols don't slow you down, mess up your blood sugar, tip you into an eating binge or give you stomach problems, go ahead and use them in moderation.

Just remember the 3 sweeteners daily limit doesn't change throughout the diet.

Also watch which rung you are on, they will contain nuts so you need to be at the nut rung etc.

It really bothers me that they put the spenda logo on things, it can be decieving, usually the main sweeteners are sa's, they have to be for the texture, and splenda is just secondary.

I like lindt 99% cocoa bars, i melt down a few squares and add my own sweetener to it. It's dark chocolate and to die for.

                .
That's a marketing ploy....to make you think the product is only sweetened with Splenda. Usually Splenda is at the bottom or near-bottom of the ingredients list.
