  • Low carb yogurt?

I'm currently on the dairy rung and almost ready to move up. However, I want to try yogurt first. I'm having a very hard time finding "low carb" or "sugar free" yogurt anywhere. What brands have you all tried, and what did you think of them? Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

you can make your own yogurt using a tablespoon of plain active culture yogurt and the hood countdown dairy milk.
you can just buy plain and use a small seving of it as an ingredient in something you make like a curry

besure whatever you get is active yogurt culture so you get the benefit of the friendly bacteria.

plain, unflavored, whole milk yogurt. It usually has about 16 carbs per 1 cup. So an OWL amount would be 1/4 cup. Greek yogurt has lower carbs.

Question....why are you about to give up?

Where I live, I can't find Greek yogurt. I purchased the light 'n' fit carb control, and it's pretty good! Each serving is 4 oz. and 3 carbs. It's got added protien too. At my store, it comes in raspberry and vanilla. It's a bit more expensive (usually $3 for a 4-pk) but I think it tastes really good!

                  Re: Low carb yogurt?

I make (or I should say made..prior to restarting Atkins again) my own yogurt out of whole milk. I almost always drain most of the whey from it. I like the creaminess of the drained yogurt. Greek Yogurt...how does that differ from making it the way that I used to? Different type of milk? I've always wondered since I cannot find store boughten greek yogurt to see the difference.

I love making and eatting my own yogurt. It's so simple. Once you make it you'll never want to spend the $$ on store boughten again.

I flavor mine with my davinci syrups when I want flavored yogurt.

Going to have to make me some now. I forgot I could have some now since I've been and passed the dairy rung.
