  • OWL Berries!! Woo Hoo!

    Berries! Berries!

    I love the berries!

Last weekend I had three strawberries and it was a nice addition.

Today I made my regular flax muffin with blueberries and it was TERRIFIC! What a great addition to a weekend fun meal!

What about you? What have you been adding berries to?

I love berries too. I eat strawberries whenever I can. HOWEVER my biggest addition from the "berry" rung is actually Honeydew melon.

Man, I love that stuff and have it often.

      i eat losts of strawberries.

i'll get fresh cranberries soon but i can find those frozen and i love cooking them down and adding a spoonful of whipping cream.

i don't really add anything to my fruit. i've done the strawberriies in sugar free jello and i use whipped up whipping cream folded into that mixture.

Occasionally, I'll eat berries as a dessert. But I typically cook with them and use them as sauces for meats. For example, blueberries or raspberries added to a pan sauce make a really nice change for turkey, chicken or pork. I also like adding them to green salads---the sweet/tart flavor makes the salad less boring and again, the OWL berry amounts can be rather small amounts, like 1/4 cup for blueberries or 1/3 cup for raspberries.

                Um...it all sounds so good.

I'm still so thrilled with the blueberry flax muffins! My tummy is so happy and content with just the addition of berries!

Who knew I'd start loving this way of eating?

Just started raspberries in yogurt (live, full-fat) this week! I'm with Sadie on this one. Yummedy-yum yum!!!

Berry rung is one of my absolute favorites!

Kat, I'm sure you'll love the "other fruit" rung when you get there. I had a BLAST!

Kat, I love strawberries on my salad, especially with a sprinkling of pecans or walnuts, and topped with blue cheese dressing. Yum!

Everyone has such good ideas! Yum!

This week (starting tomorrow) I'm going to put some strawberries in my homemade yogurt! I can't wait! The yogurt is doing its thing now and will be done by 6 pm. It should be nice and chilled for breakfast.

Anyone notice the difference in size of fresh blueberries versus frozen? My frozen ones are twice the size of the fresh.

Lately eating out or at work functions I've had the opportunities to eat raspberries, and they were so good. I sampled them at Fresh Market the other day, but they were too expensive to buy!

Here's a fruity treat you might like. Growing up, my mom used to put a teaspoon or two of sugar in sour cream, and then mix in sliced bananas or pears. I can't have those fruits yet, but have tried it with sour cream, splenda and berries and it's very good!
