I bought Splenda but it's the kind where you have to measure it out, I should have bought the packets but this was on sale. How much of this would equal one packet? I was thinking 1/2 tsp but I'm not sure.

Yikes! I tossed the box in the garbage a while ago because I emptied the Splenda into a container.

make sure you got the calorie free splenda and not the Splenda baking stuff as they added sugar to that to get the browning effect

Yeah--double check. I accidentally bought the splenda blend (1/2 sugar 1/2 splenda) but luckily I didn't open it. That would have sucked to start using it w/out realizing it was sugar!

Am I the only one who thinks it's mighty unfair to put SUGAR into splenda? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of an artificial sweetener? *thinks of poor, unsuspecting, diabetic parents*

lol, you're definately right it totally defeats the purpose. I'm glad I looked at the box before I bought it or I would have been in big trouble. I prefer the packets myself because they're already measured out. I bought the stuff in the box that you have to measure out and I found out that the stuff in the packets sweetens much better than the other stuff I have no clue why either.

I thought one teaspoon equaled a packet?

                      Re: Splenda

Apparently they add something bulky to the 'loose' splenda to make it a one-for-one equivalent to sugar, so you can just substitute the same quantity in recipes.
