Re: Autumn 2006 Forum Roll Call!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey I was lurking, and thought I would weigh in on this!!!
I am already thinking about these things. I want depth of plans..2 or 3 types of plans to exercise out of in the winter...I will eat within induction, I will not be home for Halloween and I am sharing the cooking at the other holidays, and frankly, I will take my own food, regardless! Jan 1.2007 is a huge day that I have set before me to arrive at, in this new place in my life. Right after Jan 1 is Mar 14th, where I turn 50...I will be so much healthier and together on that date...then I look past it to the 1 yr mark of Aug1...
These dates in time, are places I have set up, they are my short term goals and my future. I walk towards them every day, if I can arrive on Jan 1 feeling as good as I feel now, WOW! If I can arrive at my 50th feeling like I do now, it will be my best birthday ever! Today I feel great, my body is loosing weight, I am eating and drinking very well and exercising with great joy...how could it get better??? I still have over 50 lbs to loose, but how can anything top the wellbeing I sense today? That's what I look forward to on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and JAN 1 2007!!!!!

Re: Autumn 2006 Forum Roll Call!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not nervous about Halloween, as I don't think we'll have trick-or-treaters--our porch light is broken. Oh what a shame, that means I don't have to buy candy.

Thanksgiving will be a nice meal, with turkey, green beans, perhaps some sort of pumpkin pie or cheesecake, and I'm going to try those mashed turnips! I need to focus on portion control...whoever said you can't crave protein never had a turkey with my family! I love the stuff. I could eat it all day!

I bought cranberries today, but I won't be on the berries rung until december--so I will save my cranberry exploits for the Christmas season!

Exercise won't be a problem, as I've joined a gym again and I LOVE IT--I never have a problem being motivated to work out, as long as it's climate-controlled!

I'm hoping to reach my first minigoal before Thanksgiving, and my second by New Year's. That will keep me motivated!

This is a bad time of year. I was just reading Chris' post about all the office treats that he has to deal with and from now til the New Year it's only going to get worse.
I was trying to think of things we would take to the office to counter balance all the junk that is going to be there.

Re: Autumn 2006 Forum Roll Call!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm actually pretty excited about Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm already looking for (and trying out) recipes to make this year. I'm staying home for the first time in YEARS. I'm really happy that I'm on the grains rung, but trying some of the winter squashes for the first time in my life which actually fall on the starchy veggies rung.

I stuffed an acorn squash with Jimmy Dean Sage sausage and diced jicama and baked it for dinner the other night. MMMMMMMMMMMMM that was good.

I bought some brazil nuts the other night, and have just been enjoying those as a snack.

I'll definitely be making George Stella's New York Ricotta cheesecake for dessert. I just can't feel sorry for myself when I have that!! I actually feel sorry for everyone who's not eating it LOL

Woops! I totally missed this thread going up again! I'm such a space cadet...

I went as a geisha! I had an authentic Japanese kimono. I felt very lovely, and I got a lot of compliments.

Hehe, someone at the party had a camera and snapped a few photos of everyone, including me... I'll have to see if I can track one down.

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
