Whew! It was a close one but I finally did it! MINI GOAL NUMBER 1 HIT!
25 pounds.... gone! And 30 inches.... gone!
We had guests all week and I politely insisted they follow our way of eating. Then I turned the pressure on myself to show how good it can be.... And we had LOTS of wonderful, yummy recipes, AND dessert every night. (low carb of course) Although I saved my 3 sweets for the nightly dessert, I still didn't see any scale movement at all til they left - and I stopped with the desserts. (I've discovered, for me, 1 dessert a week keeps the pounds coming off. More than that (even within the sweet allowances) and I can forget it)
I've got two weeks now til my race walking camp (my mini-goal self-reward). I'm really trying to follow the training schedule but it is going to be VERY embarrassing - I already know. It is a 5 day camp at the USA Triathlon Training Camp in Florida. They are training the Olympic racewalkers but have graciously, and very kindly, agreed to take a few of us beginners! So, as I was walking my 3 hour endurance walk this weekend (at 3 mph... ha ha) I was thinking about all those well trained athletes and what on earth they are going to think of me?!?! (I know they put their pants on one leg at a time too, but those are OH SO SKINNY AND WELL TRAINED LEGS!) I just hope I can keep going all five days without making an absolute fool out of myself!
(My husband is DISCOURAGING me... saying WHY are you doing this? WHY can't you just go for a walk like NORMAL people? You are CRAZY! You are going to get HURT!. But the reason I'm doing this is so I learn how NOT to get hurt so I can walk a marathon in something less than 24 hours!
) Anyway - I logged 19 miles of walking last week which for me is a record! (plus my biking, weight lifting, pilates, etc.)
The reason I'm saying all this stuff is because......it's the NEW ME! WOW! I am a person talking about training, marathons, etc. and not what's for dinner and how about some of that german chocolate cake?
So - I will say THANK YOU guys! 13 weeks later, 25 pounds less, and I'm on my way to a complete new me!
