  • Day 15..... Carl's Jr!

    My Husband took me out for Lunch today to Celebrate my New Lifestyle...
    we went to walk around a New Mall in town... good exercise for us BOTH i told him... anyway after lots of walking we decided to go get some FAST FOOD which i hardly ever do... and we walked into a Carl's Jr... AND I WAS SO SUPRISED!!! They have a Low Carb $6 Burger!!! LOTS OF LETTUCE, A GRILLED BEEF PATTY, CHEDDAR CHEESE, TOMATOES, PICKLES, RED ONION, MUSTARD AND KETCHUP (which i deleted)... IT WAS GREAT!!! i hope this is ok to do??? anyone know about this Carl's Jr Burger? i also had a Small Diet Coke... it sounds like i Cheated and i FEEL like i Cheated... but everything was so fresh AND all on my ALLOWED FOOD LIST! please let me know if i did something wrong... somehow i feel kinda Guilty... Lili...

    When you need to know the carb counts in fast foods or restaurants, you are best to search them on the web. I found carl's jr. and they're lc burger shows 6's carbs, 2g fibre so 4 net carbs. I have no idea if the ketchup is included in that so I would count it as 4 just to be safe. better to over estimate than under

    www.calorieking.com is also a good place for fast food counts, as well as counts for any other foods.

        Glad you enjoyed it, only issue was the DC and did it take eating all the burger to satisfy your hunger. remeber leasrn to feed only your hunger when you eat and you will be a life long goalie with Atkins.

        you can delete the ketchup in the hardees build your burger thingie so you should in Carls as thay are owned by the same company. they use less ketchup then normal on the low carb but it isn't low carb ketchup.

          Thanks 2big4mysize! i 'thought' that diet soda was ok 'sometimes'...? i filled the cup totally to the top with Ice and only had a few sips... because im truly NOT a soda drinker... i just wanted a little taste... but is that going to hinder my weight loss??? is it because its not sweetened with Splenda? and NO i did not eat the whole entire $6 burger... that thing was HUGE! ha ha! but i did eat all of the lettuce & tomatoes! BUT, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I MESSED UP BIG TIME WITH THE DIET COKE OK??? IF IT WILL REALLY MESS ME UP, IT WILL BE OFF MY LIPS FOREVER!!! Have a Great Day!!! Lili...

            there are 3 issues with your diet coke some folk are aspartamen sensitive and can stall using it. then there is the caffeine issue as caffeine is an insulin evoking chemical and insulin is a fat storing hormone. we want the other hormone that runs in a negative feed back loop with insulin glucogon out in full ofrce for fat burning at its best. then there is the cephalic issue with if it stimulates your sweet tastebuds it stimulated the brain to release insulin which drops blood sugar and causese cravings.

            so if you survived your day and good for you nit eating itall just cause it was legal
            then it didn't effect your atkins but you should find another drink.

              Hi Ms Lili! Ah, Carl's Jr. Low Carb $6 Burger is one of my favorites for a quick meal if I don't feel like cooking. There's one a few blocks from my house. I also have them hold the ketchup!

              Also, since you're a Southern California girl, check out In-n-Out. Ask for whatever you want "protein style" hold the spread. Yummy!

                I've had the $6 burger, but instead of the beef patty, I asked them to substitute a grilled chicken breast. I also went without the ketchup. I've only had this once, and also felt like I was cheating for some reason! My concern was about the "cheddar cheese". It was so gooey and melted that I wondered if it was real white cheddar? It probably was, but since I was feeling guilty already, I was paranoid. It was really good though!

                  Mmmm I'm all about the quacamole bacon burger in a lettuce wrap - with out the santa fe sauce (just in case, hehee)...

OMG!!! now Carl's Jr is going to be the Only place i go IF i do go Fast Food... ~~~ ADRELILUC ~~~ if i can change like YOU did and eat out once in a while... OMG!!!                       and thanks for the info on IN & OUT Stacy... : ) they are all over out here... everyone is always telling me how YUMMI their burgers are, but since i hardly ever eat Fast Food... i still have never been there... i HAD however been to Carl's Jr before after finding out that they had Fried Zucchini a few years ago... YUM!!! but i know thats a bad thing now due to the breading... right? maybe next time my hubby wants a burger i will tell him Lets Try IN & OUT... he is truly a Fast Food Junkie! almost every single day! but when he saw that Low Carb Carl's Jr burger i had on Sunday he said Hmmmmm? "that looks good" and i told him that it would be so much better for him and he wouldnt feel so stuffed after he was done eating (from all that bread)... and he thought about it... i think he is really liking my new way of eating & might VERY SLOWLY join the Band Wagon!!! he only has maybe 25lbs to lose, but that would be GREAT!!! THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH FOR THE INFO! YOU ARE GREAT!!!

                        lol thanks girl!! You're shrinking as we speak - you'll be struttin' your stuff soon enough!

                        I also like Burger King because they have the burger in a bowl... (I'm sure you can get that anywhere, but they actually have it on the menu there so I don't feel so silly asking for it)... It's MUCh less messy than going bunless or even w/ a lettus wrap... OOh and if you do get one of those low-carb guac/bacon burgers make sure you get LOTS of napkins!! lol... you know the saying "if it doesn't get all over the place..."
