    Good Morning All...
    i just had the most insatiable urge for some Chocolate...!!! OMG!!! its my week before TOM & i just knew it would happen... im on day 21... and in OWL... but i found a nice Recipe for some Hot Cocoa on George Stella's website www.stellastyle.com 1 Cup Heavy Cream + 1 Cup Water + 5 Tsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder + 3 Pkts Splenda = 13 CARBS in a 16oz Mug... i know i shouldnt have - but i just couldnt help myself... now im down to 12 carbs left for the whole day today... Shame On Me!!! IS THIS OK TO DO EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE WHEN WE ARE ABOUT "THAT TIME" (TOM)??? i know there is No Way i can do this all the time... i just HAD TO have chocolate today... i was dying for just a taste, but i wanted to be good... any opinions???     There are many TOM chocolate recipes on the board clouds, blobs, and even cocoa with a lower amount of carbs and a smaller sreving size. there are over 48 chems in chocolate that have phamocological propertied and when you are TOM activated your Dr Brain knows abut your past experiences with foods that "cure" temporarily thise issues by minicing neurotransmitters and prescribes them for you.

    your new job is to fine a way to send Dr Brain back to school and educate him on Atkins low carb ways to acheive the same results.

    Be very careful cause your brain will be prescribing again soon. it only needs a little coccoa not a pint.

      Thank You 2Big! i know i was wrong, it was just a moment of weakness... IM LEARNING... but with all of the REAL CHOCOLATE my DH has laying around in the kitchen... im just So Happy that i didnt pick up anything he has & put it in my mouth... maybe i can put a touch of Cocoa Powder in my Starbucks Decaf in the morning when i get that urge again? that only has 1pkt of Splenda & 2Tbsp of Heavy Cream... id rather be safe than sorry... Thanks for Your Advice

        I'm a firm believer that cravings are due to nutrient deficiencies, particularly, vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Two weeks before my TOM, I make sure that I eat the veggies and fruits that give me the most nutrient bang for the buck, because it's the week before my TOM hits that I get cravy. When I do that my cravings for things that are salty or carby, decrease or are non-existent. For example, I know that I run on the low normal side for potassium. So if I eat high potassium foods the two weeks before my TOM, I'm okay and I don't crave certain foods. IF I don't eat those high potassium foods, I'll be really tempted and miserable PLUS I get other uncomfortable PMS symptoms like breast tenderness.

          ask DH to be strong for you right now and remove his choclate from the kitchen and even the house if you need that too.

          remember a smaller amount of choclate from coccoa powdr will give the same brain effect so when TOM attacks several days in a row you got some more carbs to spend on choclate was what I was sayig about the whole pint in one sitting. you could even make it and add it by the table spoon to your decaf like you mentioned above so you get the chemical effect of the choclate but not all the carbs every time.

            Hi mslili,
            When I got that TOM urgent urgie urges for chocolate last month, I had a teaspoon of unsweetened cocoa powder in a 8oz mug, added boiling water, 1 tablespoon of cream and 1 packet of splenda. It hit the spot perfectly. There are great recipes here for those times, I enjoyed the hot drink though because it took quite a while to drink it - I savoured it
