  • Do you get all your berries, nuts, etc.?

I'm on the berry phase of OWL. I am considering moving on - skipping alcohol... The issue is that I do not, on a daily basis manage to get all my berries, or nuts, or even dairy. I'm just not that interested in those foods everyday. Some days I like to have a hand full of nuts, some days a cup of yogurt, etc.

My question is for those of you on or near maintenance - did you always eat all the foods you were suppose to every day? Or did you skip these higher 'level' foods if you weren't wanting to have them. I get plenty of veggies so that is not an issue - its just that on a daily basis (especially in the winter) I don't feel for berries - for example.

This means my carbs vary between 25 - 35 or so, and to be honest I haven't stopped losing at 35 (though it slows down a bit) so I don't think there is a CCL issue yet.

Any suggestions? Pointers in how you did this?

Thank you! And success wishes to all for 2007!

You don't have to have all the rung foods every day.... just when you feel like them, if they don't affect you badly. Trying them out is what OWL's all about. The exception would have to be veggies... you need those every day!

In regard to the rungs in general, I definitely didn't do allof them all the time. I tried out a few starchy veggies and grains but i barely touch them. That's owl and pre-main. to me, trying it out and seeing what works-and what doesn't.

Nope. If I know I'm not going to eat berries (because I don't have them in my house), then I make sure I eat higher carb veggies. The veggies are a carb source you shouldn't go without daily. Remember the 3 cups of vegetables you were eating during Induction become your minimum daily vegetable limit.

You don't have to eat at your CCLL everyday----just eat near that level.

I am happy to read this! I am on the dairy rung but most days I do not eat "extra" dairy stuff. I wasn't sure if you had to. I am mostly happier with the extra veggies(hated only three cups of veggies when on induction). I am skipping the melon/berry rung and returning to it until these things are in season.

Oh yeah, definitely what Megs said with at least 3 cups every day.
