if you HAVE to have dessert...... Check out the dessert thread in the recipes forum. Theres Cheesecake (to die for!), pumpkin fluff etc etc.

For a special meal, what about some nice ribeyes, creamed spinach with sauteed shrooms?

How about a low-carb cheescake??? There are many different variations on that theme and lots that are OWL rung 1 friendly or can be made that way (like leaving our the nut crust) One of our favorite recipes is 2 parts cream cheese to 1 part sour cream, splenda to taste. You can even top it with homemade whipped cream if you like. Later, when you add nuts, you can pour it in a nut crust but until then, it serves up great in a custard dish! Add something like that after a great steak and veggie dinner and you'll never miss the birthday cake!

Low carb cheesecake, low carb pumpkin mousse or pumpkin custard, low carb panna cotta are just some desserts.

However, if you want to forgo the dessert and start a new birthday tradition, like taking a walk through the park or around the block, that will be not only low carb but also heart healthy.

yea...cheesecake...we tried one. it actually came out really yummy...but i think it's more psychological...we want a "birthday cake" and just dont see cheesecake as very birthday-like. hehe i know i know, we probably wont do anything at all. its just sad =( i did find a yummy looking 3 minute chocolate cake. it uses:

1/4 cup almond flour (whatever that is!)
          1 tbl. unsweetened cocoa
          1/4 tsp baking powder
3 tbl. plus 1 tsp. splenda
          2 tbl butter, melted
          1 tbl water
          1 egg
          3 drops almond extract.

you make it in a glass bowl in the microwave and it only makes two servings. what do you think??

The most important part is that you are in it together. Thats awesome. I rather the Chocolate Cake recipe instead. Sounds Yummy. I'm one of those that loves seeing a birthday cake and blowing the candlessssssssssssss LOL and just takes a little bite off it since its my b'day cake, but I don't like eating them.

Hope you have a wonderful Time

The best low carb cakes are made with almond flour, but since you are on run 1 you can't have them yet, you need to wait till the nut rung.

what about prime rib? lobster? beef tenderloin? Go all out and make him an atkins friendly birthday dinner. Set a romantic table, light some candles. My hubby has never been a sweet eater so he has never wanted a birthday cake, He'd take a prime rib dinner anyday over a birthday cake!

I agree. Start a new tradition! Something sexy, something romantic, something that only the two of you can enjoy. Anybody can eat cake...so do something that's meant JUST for him!

uhm. Isn't Victoria's Secret still running their semi-annual sale? :P

I believe heavy whipping cream and a couple packets of splenda are still legal.
