  • moving to OWL did the trick

Well posting again as now I am down 15 lbs. Since moving to OWL I am having steady loss. On induction my weight fluctuated by about 2 lbs . i thought oh no I will be a slow loser...I am still amazed by the inches you lose the most...
This board has been great support for me..I thank everyone for that....I guess I should give starting stats...I began at 231 lbs ( yikes hard to admit) and i am down to 216 lbs.

I tink that you lose faster on Owl than on induction. I plan on staying on the first rung as long as its working.

Re: moving to OWL did the trick

So glad to hear this! I did two weeks on induction and had already decided that I would move to owl after that to more quickly get more variety in my food intake. I noticed that dr. Atkins made it very clear that the purpose is to develop healthy eating habits through the different fases, and for that owl seems more important that induction.

Still I find it a bit scary to do, now I am here, but your post is really encouraging

Re: moving to OWL did the trick

Yup I am amazed at how effective this way of living is. I feel great and am now down 17 lbs. I felt like a barrel before i am actually gaining my shape back. Wow is all I can say. I seem to be averaging about a pound a day and recently have began running on my treadmill. I am hoping that I will continue to lose and by summer there will be even less of me.

Re: moving to OWL did the trick

Oh that is so fantastic! OWL is such a wonderful thing. I wish everybody went right to OWL from induction (especially since rung 1 is so important, in my opinion). Even being able to eat a simple extra serving or 2 of vegetables is such a freeing feeling and makes it seem less like a diet.

Congratulations on your success with the move.
No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

Myself and another member on this board believe in that myth, we're both too scared to move on to OWL.

Its great to read a post like this tho, its proving me wrong!
