  • Not enough fat?

Yesterday I was on a bad eating kick, but I aslo didnt have my normal eggs, but instead had some steak and cauliflower.

I am wondering if not having enough fat or not my normal amounts in the morning could make me want to binge.

    Re: Not enough fat?

I am not really sure, but I can tell you from experience that I tried eating something I wouldn't normally eat for breakfast that was a bit higher in carbs and I binged all day. Ate way to much! Weird. The fat helps keep you full, so possibly?

I would say it depends on the cut of steak you ate, whether or not you ate the fat from the meat, and what you had on the cauliflower. If you had a leaner cut of meat and no fat on the cauliflower, you may very well not have had enough fat in proportion to the protein and it may have led to your being less satisfied later in the day. Otherwise, I say it was probably something else you ate that triggered your appetite OR you just had one of those hungry days. I have those from time to time, I believe everyone does.

Just be sure on the days you are an eating machine that you are feeding true hunger and not boredom, lonliness, or any other munch triggering emotion. Also double check your foods and condiments and make sure you aren't accidently eating something illegal. There are so many items in the markets that sound legal, and should be legal, but aren't. I know I was stunned when I read the labels to most beef jerky. It sounds so innocent but is usually chock full of sugars and such.

If you are truly hungry, it's your body's way of telling you it needs the fuel. Eat until satisfied. This is one of the most beautiful things about Atkins; you never have to be hungry for the sake of losing weight.
