  • ANOTHER questions about OWL and FitDay please help

    Ok, so I decided to venture forth onto OWL and decided to eat spinach for lunch for my additional 5g of carbs today. I punched my 3/4 of a cup of spinach, which DANDR says is 5g AND it is 5g but 3g is fiber so that equals 2g net carbs that count, right??

    Am I reading something wrong? Am I suppose to add back 5g net or total carbs???

    5 g net. This means, that you could use 1.5 cups of spinach as a base for your lunch salad instead of, or maybe in addition to your lettuce. Plus, you could still have 1 cup of salad veggies like peppers, mushrooms, cucumber, radishes AND a full cup of "other veggie" at dinner time.

      It's 5 net carbs like what Valid said. As you can see if you do your Atkins correctly, you'll be eating more vegetables than what the USDA and most dieticians currently recommend.
