  • Ketostix and CCLL

Those of you who have determined your CCLL: did your Ketostix turn negative around your CCLL?

I was at 50g carbs for the last week and still lost one pound. No pounds the week before but I'm pretty sure that was because I overdid it on the flax. I've only lost 1/2 inch on my waist and abs, so my weight loss appears to be slowing down. My ketostix are still showing up trace amounts of ketones, in spite of what the book says about them not being positive at or above 50g. I weigh and measure everything and log it all into Fitday, so I am confident that my carb level is accurate.

The book says the stix will turn negative a little before your CCLL - so I am wondering if that was really true for you?

    Re: Ketostix and CCLL

I never determined at what point they stopped turning I only used them in the beginning then stopped. There are so many factors that can cause them to register or not. I don't put much faith in them really. And the 50g rule is not true for me..out of curiousity a couple of weeks ago I tried a ketostix while eating 70g's + of carbs a day. they still registered pink.
