  • climbing the Rungs?

Im trying to find my CCL and have just gone on to the nut and seed rung. I have a low metabolic rate and I have 11 lbs left to lose.

I am wondering if i should stay at each rung for 1 week instead of 2 weeks, as i have quite a few rungs to climb and only a few pounds left to lose.

    What would you advise?

    thanx for any help

I think that is a personal decision. I had gotten up to rung 6 and things just spriral'd out of control. Now I'm back on rung 1, and plan on staying here until I run the gammet so to speak on all that's acceptable. Trying to figure out where or how I went wrong!

    Best of luck!

I would say, as long as you are still losing, you could do 1 week instead of 2. the problem I found in OWL was my last 10 lbs came off so slowly, it was hard for me to determine if it was due to foods i'd added, or my body just being stubborn. So i ended up spending more time on each rung if my weight loss stopped. IE when i got to the other fruits rung, I wasn't losing, so i backed off for a week, still wasn't losing so i realized it was not due to the rung.

It can be really tough if you hit a stall, to determine your ccll I found. . Those last few lbs for me were very stubborn which caused alot of my frustration. i've found since being in maintenance that my maintainance carb levels are much higher than I thought .

How much weight did you lose during the firt 14 Days of your Induction phase? That will determine what your metabolic rate is.

After induction i lost 8lbs, so i have a low metabolic rate.

You have about 20 pound weight loss goal, and you lost 8 pounds. You don't have a low metabolic rate. You have low metabolic resistance to weight loss. In other words, you don't have the metabolic factors that will make your weight loss harder. So your weight loss is relatively 'easier' than someone who has a high metabolic resistance to weight loss

I too had a similar issue...losing weight too quickly. I thought I might overshoot my goal in my CCLL quest. It's at least 60 for me. You've lost 14 pounds in about 6 or 7 weeks...that is very fast. It's probably safe to say you have a high CCLL. I think you're better off moving up the rungs one week at a time and if something slows you down, then you can back that food group out. You need to have plenty of time for PreMaintenance. Although that depends a little on whether you would be satisfied to drop below your goal weight or not. I don't want to go more than a pound or two below my goal weight.

                Re: climbing the Rungs?

This is an excellent question. I am now in my second week on rung 1. I figured that since I still have 85 pounds to go to goal weight, that I need to climb the ladder slowly, especially after an extended period on induction. I was averaging 3 lbs per week for the four weeks prior to OWL, and then it dropped to 1.6 lbs last week. I could have just hit a little plateau, but I still think I need to take it slow. According to how much I lost in the first 14 days of induction, I have a low metabolic resistance to weight loss, so I should be able to get as high as 40-60 carbs, but isn't it a good idea after a prolonged period of induction to stay on each rung a little longer?

                Thanks!

                  Gonnabskinny -
Cafe only has 11 pounds left to lose (and has lost the first 14 at a very fast clip), and you have 85. That's why my advice to her is different than to you. I think she should progress up the rungs one week at a time to allow herself enough time for PreMaintenance. I think you can be very leisurely with the rungs on OWL - take as long as you want on each rung.

                    Hiya,

Well thank you for all your comments and advice, they were very helpful.
I have decided to stay at each rung for a week and hopefully find my CCLL that way, If i experience a stall i will just stay at that rung for another week and then move on when i lose again.

I dont mind going below my goal weight for a while until i find my CCLL. We will see how it goes.
