I was just wondering if products like carbquick and carbalose flour are okay to have or are they really processed and unhealthy for you on atkins? I have seen them in a lot of recipes but didn't know what you guys thought of them. Also what about the atkins products like their bars. Are they good for you or no? Or are there better options out there? Thanks!

Re: Carbquick??
I don't think the 'nutrition' bars are good for your general health because they're just a bunch of chemicals, additives and preservatives. Real food is much healthier and better, imo.
I don't use Carbquick. As you go up the Carb ladder in OWL and Pre-Maintenance, you can use real grain products. For example, oat flour can be used as a thickener and to coat meat before pan frying---and oat flour is just that--ground up oats.~Megs~

Re: Carbquick??
I think Carbquik is one of the best modified products on the market. It's counterpart, carbalose flour, can be used like regular flour in recipes, while carquik is more like, say, Bisquick. It IS flour, however, so should technically not be added until the grains rung in OWL or Pre-maintenance.
For what it's worth, yup, it's processed, but can be a good tool in limited amounts in maintenance, IMO.28 yo F/5'3
