okay it's been 3 months "vent"

  • okay it's been 3 months "vent"

    So it's been 3 months since I started Atkins I'm down 30 pounds 3-4 pant sizes. I've had long stalls along the way thou weeks where I lost nothing at all. My hubby joined me on Atkins less then a month ago he's ALREADY lost 21 pounds the 1st month!. I've not lost much more then that in 3 MONTHS. I have more to lose then him too. He only needed to lose 40-45 pounds I had 100 to lose "now 70". So annoyed he's losing so fast. He is starting to look so much better all his clothes fall off him already!. In 4-5 days it will he his one month on. YES i'm glad he joined it is easier to shop and cook when we are eating the same. I feel like a failure he's doing so much better. I had read that the more you have to lose the faster you will lose on atkins. Well i had double to lose what he did his is just melting off. I'm just utterly unhappy with my weight still. Everyone is telling my hubby WOW your looking so great. I NEVER HEAR THAT i've been on longer and lost more then him. I got envy bad he's doing better, losing faster, i feel left behind. i'm trying so hard i'm going to stick with this because i'm not gaining but it's a bummer to see my own hubby EAT MORE then me, lose more then me, and do less exercise and less water then me!. I drink over a gallon a day he don't drink anywhere near that. I exercise at least once a day sometimes two he don't do anything other then his regular job!

    Went totally off atkins now i'm right back where I started in 2007. 75 POUNDS were lost and gained BACK AUGH.

    (((JEN))) you sound like me this past weekend.. Its so not fair the way men can lose weight.. The most important thing you gotta tell yourself is that you are losing and you don't want those 30lbs pounds back... Average that out for 12 weeks..a little over 2lbs a week which is perfect Keep it up!

      But the fact is you ARE losing. You have lost 30 pounds in three months. Thats, what, 2-2.5 lbs a week. That's great! I know it's not fair, and it just seems that men get the easy side of a lot of things...no PMS, they don't have to endure childbirth, and they lose weight faster, and look better quicker! But don't let it get you down. Your time is coming. Patience! Instead of thinking about how you want things right now, think about how things WILL be in the future because you are working so hard and diligently on losing weight and improving your health. You can do it!

        Alright, now quit beating yourself up now. It is absolutely unfair that most men can loose so easily, but there you have it. Instead focus on your own successes. You've been loosing over 2 pounds a week, and 3-4 pant sizes so far? That's wonderful!! The reason the people that see you all the time aren't noticing, is Because they see you all the time, and you're loosing your weight the right way, gradually. Just keep doing what you know you need to be doing and watch the weight continue to melt off.

        (and remember how much you'd be crying if you had gained that much weight in 3 months )

          First of all, stop focusing on the pounds! You lost 3-4 pants sizes in 3 months!!!!!!!!! So it doesn't matter what that stupid scale says, you are skinnier and you look skinnier.

          Secondly, men lose "easier" than women, so stop comparing yourself to him.

          Thirdly, no one said squat to me until I had lost 100 pounds and many dress sizes! And I'm not alone in this either. We had a member say that people were afraid to say anything about her weight loss because they thought she was ill (like with cancer).

          So don't beat yourself up. Your shrinking pants is proof you are losing weight. Like I always say No one know how much you weigh unless you carry a sign that says "Hi. Today I weigh _____ pounds." But everyone will notice that your clothes are fitting better and you are getting smaller. And you have definitely noticed you aren't wearing the larger sizes of clothing.

            Congratulations on your weight loss, if you keep loosing weight at your current rate you will reach your goal in 7 months!
            It is hard not to compare oneself to others but try focusing on your success and staying positive. Keep it up and you will look great and everyone will notice!

              Jen, you are losing a LOT faster than I did, and I lost about 15 lbs. before anyone even noticed. I didn't care, I noticed, and I am doing this for me!

              Just you wait! The day will come when everyone you run into will exclaiming "Wow! You look GREAT! How'd you do it?"

              Don't get discouraged, you are really doing great! Hang in there!

                You guys are the best!. Acually my hubby in total stayed on about 6 weeks he lost 22 pounds the last 2-3 days he has started eating whatever he wants he has totally blown his diet he's digging into FRIES and bread and snacks at school. He works at a elementary school he said he could not stand the temptation anymore. So i'm still moving along June 19th will be 4 months i've lost 32 so far. At this rate If i lose just a little over 1-2 pound a week I COULD BE AT GOAL within the time i gave myself Feb 19th 2008 to be 100 pounds less...that will be my one year. Funny thou some times i'll lose nothing for weeks then all at once lose 3-7 pounds. So i can't count on a steady 1 pound a week lose i may not lose anything all month but all at once drop 5 pounds. Even thou i get down I KNOW THIS IS the right way of eating for me. Still it's annoying to see men lose so much faster lol.

                  Yay for standing strong and keeping your focus!

                  Darn for you hubby not fighting temptation, but we all have to fight our own enemies/battles with carbs. However, there's always that idea of taking before and during pictures to put up on the fridge for both of you to see. Maybe then he'll have some great reference to stop binging and keep up the low carb way of eating.

                    i have my before and during photo "even have it posted up here on the pics page somewhere" I'm taking a new one June 19th. ..i ask him to do a before and after photo to he did not seem like he cared. YES!!!!!!!!! photos are GREAT advice i was shocked when i saw mine side by side.
