  • Low Carb yogurt?

I can't seem to find any yogurt that's low carb. I live in Canada, so I'm wondering if anyone from Canada might know of any brands that are available? I can't find the other brands that I see listed in other threads!

Blue Bunny is 5 net carbs for a 6 oz container. It has 90 calories, 9 grams of protein and 5 grams of fat. I know Target sells them here in the states. Also Fage is a Greek Yogurt that is sold at Whole Foods and Upper end grocers and is low carb and really good, but it is also quite expensive.

Hopefully, somebody from Canada will chime in and give you some direction on what else might be available for you.

They don't sell low carb yogurt in Ontario that i'm aware of, and i'm so glad they dont. I tried Bluebunny when down in the states and i thought it was watery tasting and flavourless.

go with a full fat yogurt like Astro Plain (6%) or Liberté Mediterané (greek yogurt i think it's 10%). it only has about 5 or 6 g's per half cup, you can eat it plain, in recipes, sweeten with splenda, or davinci syrups, or add berries and nuts when you get to those rungs.

I find the greek yogurt very hard to find, I've only seen it at Shoppers Drug mart here, thought there are other stores that carry their products just not that variety.

Western Creamery makes a 'dry pressed' cottage cheese (awesome if you hate the texture of cottage cheese), that i like to mix with my yogurt to bring up the protein a bit, and make it more filling. It's very low carb at about 1g per 100g's. it's also a good addition on the dairy rung.

      Hope this helps!

I saw both Astro and Liberte when I was out shopping today so that's great! Just so you know, I saw them at Zehrs....don't know if there's one near you but they usually have some of the more hard to find foods. When I get to the dairy rung I will buy some!

Interesting...I did a search for greek yogurt in Canada on Google and came across this forum where they were discussing it. One thing they said was that yogurt in the States is not nearly as good as yogurt in Canada!
I buy the Astro plain as well. It's creamy and good! I can't find Greek yogurt anywhere though...will try Shoppers.

i've found the greek yogurt hard to find as well. Though i live near greektown i'm sure if i try one of the smaller greek groceries i'll find it. I do love astro's though...and they have a 6% that is very good. Western creamery's products are good too. they have a 35% sour cream that is to die for!
