  • Argh!!!

I am not sure this is the correct place for this post, but since I am (was) in OWL, I thought I would post here.

I slipped up pretty badly and it has been VERY hard to get back on plan. Last Friday I went out to a nice dinner to celebrate my graudation with my masters. I started drinking wine, and ended up eating badly. That wouldn't have been so bad, except that I didn't get back on plan until today! 6 days off plan. I got on the scale this morning and was up over 8 pounds! I hope some of that is water that will quickly come back off.

I did well today back on induction right at 20 grams of carbs. I must admit I am nervous about the next few days. It was so hard for me to get back OP.

Anyone else been through this? Suggestions? Comments?

    Thanks,

    Ken

    Hi, Ken

Don't fret - what's done is done. You've taken a major step forward by getting back on plan today. Drink tons of water, and let nothing but legal food pass your lips. I would try not to weigh for about a week, either. I know that is hard for a lot of people, but I think it would take the stress off during this week. It is going to be hard at first, but with consistency you will regain your control.

About cheating... I have been back on Atkins since the end of February. I haven't cheated a single time, which is pretty amazing. I realize this time around that a cheat can really do me in. I remember once on my first time around going out for Chinese food with my mom, thinking I could surely handle one cheat. That cheat lasted over a month. I have learned my lesson, and have resolved not to do it again. I know I can't handle it.

The ball is in your court now. Believe me, if you really want to do this, you absolutely can. One week off of plan is nothing, if you sincerely get back on the wagon and work Atkins like it is supposed to be. It is only a problem if you let it go on longer. Put this behind you, and join us. Post often... there are some great people around here.
