  • Stalling?

I know it isn't really considered a stall unless you don't lose and any weight or inches for 4 weeks, but I'm asking about this because I dont' want to get to that point. I'm on OWL rung 1 and have been for 2 weeks, I went out and bought cottage cheese yesterday because today marks the 2 week point of being on rung 1 and I was going to move onto rung 2. However, I haven't lost any weight in 4 days....will moving on up the rungs stall my weight loss? Should I stay on rung 1 until my weight loss starts again? I have the bad habit of weighing every day, and I've been bouncing between 152 and 154 for 4 days....normal?

4 days??!! yes its very normal!! you should only be weighing once a week anyway which means you wouldnt see the bounce or be getting anxious over it!

Are you bored of veggies? try staying there another week or so if you seriously think something is affecting you... try and rule out what it is, but at a guess i'm just gonna say your completely normal and start weighing just once a week!!

Review your menu. Did you add any new food 4 days ago? If so, what did you add? How much of it did you add? Are you sure you are eating the proper quantities of food (5 net carbs of the OWL foods)? Remove any new food from your diet for a few days and see what happens.

      Is TOM nearing?

Have you changed your exercise routine?

Have you measured yourself? Remember the scale will NOT show that you have lost fat but gained muscle. It only shows the amount of weight you have.

        Re: Stalling?

I haven't added any new veggies in the last week (don't like many veggies, so I have either broccoli or asparagus almost every night).....and I've been eating 2 cups of salad veggies, 1 cup of "other" veggies, then the 5 net gram of carbs OWL serving of veggies. My fat is down a few percentages since I've added the new carbs, and my protein is almost always between 28-33%.

It's true though, I have a bad habit of weighing every day! I'll put the scale away and won't weigh again until next week!

I did measure yesterday and I have lost another inch off my hip, so that's 3 inches off now.....

I am sort of getting bored of veggies, but at the same time I'm scared to move on because I don't want to stall. I just can't decide what to do!

Why not pick another veggie you havent yet tried from the allowed list and experiment? You might discover a new favourite.

Remember - losing inches is proof of losing FAT so it means you are still losing
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

            WOOHOO!

I spent many a month losing inches but not losing pounds. The way I look at it unless I walk around with a big sign that says "Hi. Today I weigh _____ pounds." No one will know how much I weigh, but they will notice I fit into my clothes better and I will notice I fit into my clothes better.

When I was about 210 pounds, I had to get my driver's license renewed. There's a thing about weight on the license. The clerk looked at me and said "190." I didn't argue with her!

I also think we have this memory of us about how big we were at a certain weight. I knew when I was 190 pounds (before Atkins) I was a size 22. So when I hit the 190's on my Atkins, I went clothes hunting. I made a bee-line to the size 22 items. They were too big. I tried on a size 20, it was too big. I sorta panicked because I couldn't find anything on the racks that would fit! Then it hit me...I couldn't find anything because the clothes were too big and I was too small for them. So, I went to the regular sized clothing and found I could fit into the 'extra large' sizes.

I am sort of getting bored of veggies, but at the same time I'm scared to move on because I don't want to stall. I just can't decide what to do!
Take that step and move up a rung/carb level. IF you stop losing weight (pounds or inches) then you've found your CCLL. Once you know that number, your menu options will open up tremendously. For example, your CCLL is 35 and you've eaten 20 of those carbs for the day, then you know you can have 15 net carbs for dinner and won't have to worry about "messing up".
