  • Premaintenance help

Ok - judging by how I look naked, I think I have anywhere between 10-15lb to go to goal. Goal is also the last thing I'm worrying about right now, I know it will happen, and I'm not concerned when.

I haven't been losing much on the scale lately - 3lb in two months, but I'm shrinking so much inches wise that I'm not even concerned about the scale any more. I don't consider this a stall at all.

I've got a wedding to go to in 4 weeks, and I'd love to be able to wear a dress that shows off the waist and stomach without feeling subconsious. That's my main goal at this stage. I couldn't care less about the size, just finally want to wear something like that and not have to cover up my stomach all day.

I know I should be hitting premaintenance pretty soon, but I don't want my progress to slow before the wedding. Think I can get away with another 4 weeks of OWL and then hit premaintenance?

Once I get over this flu or whatever, I'm going to be hitting the exercise even harder too.

Edit: Also my life is stressful as heck right now, the house I was renting got sold and the new landlords want to put up the rent - I can't afford that unless I get more work, which I think I have, but I don't think I can trust myself to get into the higher carb foods and not go off the rails yet.

If you have lost 3 pounds in 2 months I don't see what another month would really hurt.... Just my opinion and I'm no where near premaintance yet. After the wedding though I would move on.

you must move when you got 5 pounds left! you can move when you have 10 pounds left so I didn't see why you need to move now.
If you look at those portions and pay attendtion to your hunger only and eat only enough to satisfy your hunger at the time you are eating even if the food is in the umlimited catagories and not decide I will have one or 2 slices of turkey for a meal but stop as soon as your hunger is satisfied you will find the scales moving a bit faster for you. That is the hang up for many low carbers not carbs just too much of the unlimited catagory foods.

        Seems reasonable to me.

My personal experience has been that my premaintenance basically turned into maintenance with 8 lbs to go, that ended up lasting months. I was pretty happy with where I was, plus my wife had our second child in July and losing the last 8 lbs hasn't been a big priority. So I will be going back to a quick induction and upping the excercise part of the plan to get to where I need to be.

I don't really anticipate losing much in induction, just want to get ketosis going good again, and then work my way through OWL and keep a little better track of what my carb levels should be.

Okay, you're going by your size/appearance right?

What's the size that you currently wear? Are you happy with that or do you want to try for a better fit or a size smaller?

I'm going by dress size too (because the scale is a bloody liar!) My current goal is an 8. My plan is when I get to a well fitting size 10, I'll move into Pre-Maintenance.

But seriously, if I feel satisfied with a 10 I might just stay there and move up but eat closer to my CCML so I don't lose more weight.

            Angie,
You move to pre-maintenance when you are 5-10 pounds from goal, so you are fine waiting. Also, you can join us on the mod reinduction challenge starting on Monday.

I'm a size 8-10 now. When I was a size 16-18 that was my goal to get to this size, but now I'm here I don't see why I can't get back to the size 6-8 I used to be. But like you Megs - the actual size doesn't matter, I just want to be at the right body fat percentage for me.

I guess I'll just see how the next few weeks go, if I'm getting close to how I wanna look, I'll hit pre-maintenance. It still scares me tho!!

I really really have to ask why would a not stalled OWLer almost to the PREMAINTENANCE point need to go back to induction. That makes absolutly no Atkins sense.

glad you aren't and I hope nobody else does that either. Atkins isn't about a rapid weight loss for a social event, it is about losing weight and becoming healthier with our new life long eating programs.

Loonatika, how did the wedding go? Did you get to wear the dress you wanted? (Or does anyone know?)

                      Just curious...

Loonatika hasnt posted here since May last year when she was having computer access problems.

                          Thanks, Elizellen...

Yes, I saw that it was older, but I thought maybe she was still around and I was curious as to how it all went...if she made her goal of wearing the dress she wanted. I was taking a chance...
