  • fitday question

when entering the daily food in fitday it gives a carb figure..is this the guideline? i've been taking that as my net carb number..is that right ?

i just noticed that cabbage is counted as 5 carbs per cup but has 3 g df...so should i look at each food individually? am i eating too little carbs?

It doesn't deduct the fiber for you. You have to do it.
It has a fiber total so you can just deduct that from the carb total.
    Hope that helps

        I'm the same way
        Are you on Induction???
If you are you should be eating 20 net carbs a day...that is the total carbs after you deduct the fiber.

          Re: fitday question

i was on extended induction 15 g net ''but'' the 15 g were really less .
now i'm in OWL rung one so i added 5 g to what i thought was 15 g but is really 10g carbs .so rung 1 net carbs was really 15g...
shall i add more carbs to reach a real 20g net carbs although the recommendation is to add 5g net only/rung?

          i'm so worried now

            Re: fitday question

I think if you were eating 15 net carbs on Induction then you would move up to 20 when you start Rung 1. I would wait for someone with more experience to come along, and they will
Don't worry sweetie. It'll be fine

                Re: fitday question

                Hello

Nicole is correct - add carbs in 5 gram increments per week from where you were during induction. You can stay on Rung 1 for as long as you desire.

I stayed on Rung 1 for about 2 months for a couple of reasons. One reason was because, like you, I had no idea how low my carbs really were. I had resisted using Fitday for quite some time, and when I finally did it became clear that my carbs were low.

Another reason I stayed there a while was to try lots of veggies. My first time around on Atkins, I didn't push myself to try new things. This made for a limited menu and did not serve to change my eating habits. This time, I am eating veggies that I would have turned my nose up at before. If you keep an open mind and stay legal, your tastes really will change. I can't believe I actually look forward to stuff like pumpkin and raw bell peppers. This is fantastic because this stuff is nutrient dense and has tons of fiber. I attribute the high fiber to my lack of *potty* problems.

                Best of luck to you
