  • 1 Month Down, Time for OWL!

I have been on induction for 1 month now and am ready for OWL. Induction has went fantastic, But beacuse I have lost pretty steadily, Im going to try it for a while in "Rung 1" and see how much I loose, If I stop loosing for a long period of time I just switch back to induction and try it again later. Is there any thing wrong with this?

    Yes.

During OWL, you have 3 goals:
    1. To continue losing weight
    2. Learn how different foods affect your body
    3. Find your CCLL (Critical Carbohydrate Losing Level)

Learning how different foods affect your body is important because you will be able to make better food choices for your body when you reach goal and that will help you maintain your goal weight.

The CCLL is important, because you need to know that number in order to find your CCML (Critical Carbohydrate Maintenance Level), which you will need to know in order to maintain your goal weight. Typically, when you start increasing your carbs during OWL, you will reach a point where you stop losing pounds and inches. This isn't something to be sad about---this is happy time, because it means you have found your CCLL. After that has been found, your OWL meal planning becomes easier because you will know that if you go over a certain number of carbs you will stop losing weight. So you don't have to worry if you ate 35 net carbs if you know your CCLL is 40.

If you run back to Induction everytime you hit a snag, you really don't learn anything about your body and how it reacts to foods and to carb levels.
