  • Need help on fitday

If anyone has time, could someone punch this recipe into fitday and see what you get for net carbs? I got 5, but I just want to make sure I'm right. These muffins are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good, I've been eating 1 for breakfast every day (I'm on the nut rung now) and I'm still losing, so they're obviously not affecting my weight loss....however I am curious to know if my net carbs count is right.

    3 beaten eggs
1 1/2 sticks of melted butter
    2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup protein powder (original recipe suggested whey protein)
    3/4 cup splenda
    1 1/2 tsp baking powder
    3/8 tsp salt
    1/4 cup cocoa
1 heaping Tbsp sugar-free peanut butter or almond butter
    1 cup water
    1 cup ground flax seed

Makes 12 muffins. You bake them at 350 for 30 minutes.

I don't know how you got 5! I put in all your ingredients at the quantities you list, subtracted the fiber, and divided by 12. I got 19.75 net carbs per muffin! For the protein powder I used what Fitday had, and put it in at 16 tablespoons because it didn't have an option for cups. I put the cocoa in at 4 tbsp for the same reason. Couldn't find sugar free peanut butter on there, so I used almond butter.
How did you get 5? Check the nutrition label for the protein powder you're using....you should probably enter it as a custom food on Fitday so you're getting the proper counts for everything.

Morning Glory is right - you need to go by your labels. The reason I didn't try to answer this post earlier is because I didn't have enough information. I enter most of my foods as custom foods on Fitday. If it has a label, I enter it as custom... for example, I have cocoa entered as a custom food. So you definitely need to enter stuff like protein powder and whatever peanut butter you are using as custom foods. Those counts can vary widely.

I know, this is a hard question to answer. I used all my labels when I calculated this, so I'm pretty sure that 5 net carbs is correct. I was just trying to double check, but unless you know exactly what is on all my labels, I guess it's impossible to answer this. Sorry!
