  • Deli meat

We get meat from the deli a lot because my fiance makes sandwiches with it. Are there any carbs in deli meat, or any rule of thumb to follow when eating it? There are no labels on it because it's fresh, so I have no idea how much fat or carbs are in it. I'm assuming it's close to 0 carbs. Anyway, any ideas?

    Re: Deli meat

I don't eat deli meat... Ask to see the label at the store. I have found that even the deli meat at Whole Foods has sugar in most of it when I ask to see their labels. Sugar can be called different things besides sugar, too. And sometimes there is too much sodium in it. And then there's the nitrates to check for as well. Whole Foods deli doesn't have nitrates, but the majority of it does have some kind of sugar.

I am cooking an eye of round roast today that I will put into the refrigerator and slice off of daily. That way I know exactly what is in it.
