Greetings, ADBB!
I have just completed my first week of OWL-1. I lost two pounds and I'm thrilled because I haven't lost since the first week of induction. And, I have dropped noticable inches. (I mean noticable by people other than me!) I love it!!!
I tried for the first time this week spaghetti squash and grilled okra. I liked both of them. I think most of the okra was too mature because it was a little too "chewy" (I guess that's a good description). The little okras were excellent though. I had spaghetti squash with alfredo sauce and grilled chicken. Yummy.
One of my favorite pre-Atkins meals was brat wurst with cabbage/bacon/ onion/peppers on a bun. I tried it this week without the bun. Loved it! Cabbage was hard for me to calculate because it has like 6 g of carbs per 1/2 cup, but 4 g of fiber. I know we get to subtract the fiber for "net" carbs, but I'm still worried the "gross" carbs will throw me over the limit. (Especially since I ate more like 1 and 1/2 cups of cabbage). For those of you having success, have you noticed the "net" carbs causing you problems for OWL? Also, I don't think my fat % is high enough anymore. Between meat and veggies, I feel pretty full.
I think I'll stick with OWL-1 for at least another week. I'd like to reach my 12 to 15 pounds gone marker before I risk making a mistake by moving on.
