Should I be eating anything with my yogurt and nuts or is it okay to eat them by themselves?

    Re: yogurt and nuts

If you use full fat yogurt, there really isn't a need to eat it with other things...unless you eat it as an ingredient of a larger dish.

For nuts, they are loaded with fat. I tend to eat them with "leaner" foods like tossed into a salad or added to a veggie & meat stirfry because they can serve as the "added" fat for a meal and that will enable you to cut back on a serving of cheese, cream, butter, mayo, etc. Also some people find portion control problems if they eat nuts by themselves---tossing a half ounce of nuts with 5 net carbs of sauteed green beans sort of eliminates the portion control issue, imo.

      Re: yogurt and nuts

Oh, that's great I have been eating them by themselves, between meals as snacks. I don't have a problem with portion control with the nuts. I love them, but I 'm happy with my ounce. I will have to try nuts in my salad. I never thought of doing that. Thanks!!

Nuts in a salad are excellent.

Walnuts and jicama with olive oil and lime is one of my favorite "salads"

Pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds make great salad toppings too.

Joy, the walnuts and jicama sound good and I love pumpkin and sunflower seeds.

I bought the light and fit yogurt yesterday and there is no fat so I put an ounce of walnuts in it. Would that be okay?

Yes, that works. Do you have access to Greek yogurt? I love that stuff and it's less carbs than the light n fit/dannon/store brands etc.

            It's made by Fage. http://fageusa.com/classic_yogurt_info.html

I get mine at Publix, Fresh Market, Wild Oats and some specialty stores. Ask your grocer if they'll order it for you.

                      Re: yogurt and nuts

In UK many supermarkets stock it. I get mine from Somerfield and Waitrose which are two of the three supermarkets in my immediate area (cheaper in Somerfield naturally!).
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
