  • 2 weeks into OWL and barely lost

So, I'm in week 3 of OWL now and have moved to rung 2.
I started OWL being on TOM so haven't thought much of it when I didn't lose any weight, after TOM I lost 100 grams (ridiculously little) and today another 100 grams...that's after 2 weeks of OWL.
Now I DID lose 12,5 centimeters (~5 inches) in the places I measure and people say it shows but I'm a little concerned if I should really have moved on or if it isn't better to stay on rung 1 and 25 carbs.
I know weightloss isn't linear and I still seem to be losing centimeters but I feel kinda....insecure...I mean I'm still in ketosis, not heavy but somewhere in the 40ies.
I guess I just want to know if anyone else has this kinda "problem"...I just can't imagine that the centimeters have gone but the weight hasn't, so now I start doubting my measurements lol.
Blah, this just doesn't feel good
Date to reach goal: I don't care, as long as it happens :P

heh, I lost about 17 inches before I lost a pound. I'm WAY smaller. People don't see your weight, they see your inches. Keep doing what you are doing. You have to stick to it to see results. Great job so far!

I Definitely Can Relate Sera. I Started On 7/14/07 @ 211 Pounds And It's Week Three And I'm Still At 6 Pounds Lost. I Don't Know If I Should Move On To Phase 2 Until I Get Out Of The 200's. I'm So Not Motivated Anymore.

I would rather lose inches than pounds *any* day. Seriously. How often does someone know how much you weigh?? Now how often do they know what size you look like?? While we put so much emphasis on the scale and what the numbers are, and our goal weights, having a goal size is so much better.

Are you guys exercising and drinking your water?? Shan, did you take your measurements?? Try getting a pair of pants that were tight, or you couldn't fit into when you first started, see where they are now, then next week, try them on again...

If you are losing centimeters, then you are losing and you should continue with your OWL/Atkins.

You might want to review your menues closely to see if you have been measuring your foods properly and if you haven't inadvertently added anything other than the OWL food to your diet.

wow disco, that's just crazy, I didn't think it could be that extreme, losing so many inches and so little weight.
I'll definitely keep going because, yes, it is nice to see the centimeters melt and pants I bought 4 kilos ago feeling loose

Shan, you definitely should measure, it helps to get over this almost-no-loss-phase a little...not totally of course as you can see in this thread
if you don't feel like moving on to OWL, don't do it, you can wait a little longer...to me it felt right after 2 weeks of induction...now...to be honest...I have trouble even reaching my 30 carbs lol.

Lyssie, in a way you are right, I lost weight but no inches, that wouldn't really help LOL but I guess I'd just rather see the combination of both

Well, I guess it'll all go eventually...just have to be patient....and I'm so NOT.

Well I definitely am measuring EVERYTHING I eat and put it on Fitday, that really helps and I go half crazy if I can't measure my foods like I do at home.
I did add a tablespoon of ground flax during the last 4 days or so to help with...you know what
apart from that I've stuck to veggies with more carbs (brussels sprouts, kohlrabi, that kinda stuff) a bit more during the last 2 weeks as I couldn't get my carbs full with things like radish, paprika and mushrooms.
oh and I have the occasional whipped cream treat (self made) but don't think I've been over the limit there.
Since I'm on the Dairy rung now, I'll try yogurt this week and allow myself some yummy cheese as a snack which I haven't done much during the last 4 weeks.
As far as I can tell, I'm still following the plan and I haven't cheated once

SF Jello can stall people which is why you're supposed to stay away from it. Neither of you are *stalled*. You're both still losing. Maybe not at the rate you *want* to lose. But c'mon, I wanna be at goal tomorrow and I don't see that one happening either...

yay, today I had 400 gram less on the scale...still nowhere close to where I'd like to be and I won't make my mini goal but at least its more than 100 gram

                        Thx.
Great feeling, isn't it? When everything feels looser...I sometimes have the feeling I forgot to zip my jeans or so because they feel like they might fall off
Keep going like that and measure so you have something to hang on to when the scale doesn't play fair

I am also a slow loser. It was dicouraging to go be alittle of a month in and only lost 13 pounds, but I have discovered that is just the rate I lose weight. It adds up to about 2 pounds a week. But my clothes fit better and everyone is noticing and saying I look like I have lost alot of weight. Personally I have accepted I just lose weight slow. And honestly it did take me several years to pack it on so it makes sense it will take time to take it off. Be pleased with your visable results and keep going to your goals. It doesn,t matter when we reach them just that we do reach them. Hope that helps some.

THANKS 4 THE ADVICE. FALLIN OFF THE BAND WAGON OVER THE WEEKEND MADE ME RETHINK THIS WHOLE ATKINS LIFESTYLE, EAT EXACTLY WHAT I SUPPOSE TO, DRINK PLENTY OF WATER AND GET SOME EXERCISE IN A FEW TIMES A WEEK,(5 DAYS A WK 4 ME) AND DON'T WEIGH YOURSELF AS MUCH. MY PROBLEM WAS AND STILL IS A LITTLE IS THAT I GO BY THE SCALE INSTEAD OF HOW I FEEL AND LOOK IN MY CLOTHES , AND BELIEVE ME THERE IS A DIFFERENCE.

Sometimes falling off the wagon does get your perspective in line. Personally, I feel so much better on this WOE that weight loss is secondary. It's still welcome, of course, but it's not as important as the relief from allergies, mood swings, headaches and stomach issues.

You may lose slowly then lose a bunch at a time, but you WILL lose if you stay with it. I don't let my day be ruined by the scales, there are days it says a number I don't believe. I judge more by how my clothes fit, and I always have something that's a little tight that I try on once or twice a week. It's amazing how fast it fits and then is too big.

Stick with it, and you'll be where you want weight-wise--and even more important, you'll feel better than you have in a long time.
