  • I'm about ready to give up...

I haven't lost anything in weeks! I'm on the fruit rung but I have completely lost my motivation. I'm doing atkins together with my husband and he has lost 30pounds, I lost 7 in the beginning, and nothing since....
Today I just lost it, I stuffed my face with cheesecake, dietcoke and huge bits of cheese all during the day. I think atkins might just not work for me... Please, does anyone have anything encouraging to say? Anything to keep me motivated?

Hi onemore! Do you keep track of your daily food intake? You can try posting a few days worth of menu's at Review my Menu. Perhaps there's something someone else can see that you're not seeing. Are you actually eating enough food each day?

Please don't give up, I'm sure others will be along to help you through this! It is discouraging to see men lose weight so rapidly, isn't it?

Was the cheesecake you ate today legal, or sugar filled?

Re: I'm about ready to give up...

The cheesecake was the Atkins friendly, I got it from one of my atkins book, but I still ate more than allowed (like 5times more).

I will post my menue, and see what people think... Hopefully someone will find what I'm doing wrong.

          HI onemore
Don't give up sweetie. I promise if you keep going it'll come off. EveryBODY is different. I know it's frustrating. I get frustrated too. It does work though, and I'm sure if you post your menu the oldies but goodies will help you figure it all out

          I hope you feel better

Hello. It is frustrating to see no weight loss, (been there)...have you taken your measurements? I'd recommend having your menu checked, joining some of the exercise challenges and tracking your measurements...The more involved you get - the more motivated you will feel about your journey. Don't give up, we are all here for you! Don't compare yourself with husband or anyone else. We are all unique and lose weight differently. If you are feeling good and losing inches then don't be discouraged. It will happen.

I know exactly how you feel onemoresong!! I lost 8 pounds on induction, then nothign since then!! and Ive been doing this since June! Lately I'v been so discouraged that I have just stopped counting carbs and calories and fat and all that...still staying "legal" though. but thinking al ot about the bad foods!! Ughhh! So, let's stay in this together. Keep trucking along. I figure, at lease...at least, I can't gain those damn 8 pounds back!! You can stay in it too!!

Re: I'm about ready to give up...

Oh, I'm in the same boat. I lost 7 pounds right away, but nothing for the last two weeks. But...I also haven't gained those 7 pounds back! Before I went back on this woe I was gaining about 3 pounds a week. I figure I dropped the extra water and brought the run away train to a halt. Now I just have to get it going in the other direction and build up momentum. I know it's frustrating, but it's gonna happen!

Just passing on a hug to ya! Motivation is deep down inside you and you can do it! Yea for your hubby doing so well!---and small hiss for him losing faster than you

Have you thought about giving up the berries? I did for awhile and saw a difference in the weight loss...actually, I'm thinking of doing it again because it seems I may be overdoing it in that rung.

Ditto what the others said... just wanted to add my voice to the chorus of "Don't give ups". It's soooo worth hanging in there and you'd surely regret it if you let all your hard work go to pot.

I know it can be extremely frustrating, I just went through a period where I wanted to give up, then I asked myself if I wanted to be a size 6 or a size 12 like I used to be? That motivates me to keep going, I like my smaller clothes.

REALLY stick to your diet, count calories and carbs......have you tried fitday? It's a great tool and it's helped me out A LOT.

WOW! So much support and help on this forum, it's unbelievable! I posted my menu and hopefully I will get more advice on what to do. I skipped the berries rung, so tha wasn't what stalled me. Guessing it's my dietcoke... or perhaps that I don't exercise enough. I'm happy for my husband but it still stings every morning when he goes "oh wow, I'v lost another pound"
I feel like reaching for the pizza and chocolates everytime.

Yes it just isnt fair that men tend to lose faster than we do - but at least we dont have to shave every day!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Would you try giving up the diet coke for a week and see what happens?
