  • Changing Goal in Pre-Maint

    Hi All,

I'm currently only 4 pounds from my original goal of 165. I'm busy searching for my CCL and have been thinking about changing my goal to 157. I think this is attainable. I figured I would find my CCL and then drop back to continue losing the last 12 pounds. I'm up to 60 to 70 grams of carbs a day and still losing. This WOE/WOL rocks so much, I want to shout it from the rooftop! I love looking in the mirror and seeing a rib cage without sucking in my breath, LOL!

Has anyone changed their goal while in Pre-Maint?

I haven't changed my goal in pre-maint, but I have changed my goal a couple of times so far.

Originally I picked a target weight mainly because I didnt think I would get there, but I am finding this so easy that I have changed it once already and even thinking about changing it again.

I started at 260 with a goal of 195. I am now at 198 and my next goal is 180. I'm considering changing it again to 173.

I think 173 is actually the weight that most "doctors charts" say that I am supposed to be for my height.

For now I will keep my target at 180.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

Congrats on the good work you are doing working your Atkins to become a smaller heathier you.

base your final goal on a healthy body fat % and go for it. The charts don't take into account the fact that you were bigger and grew denser bones to support the larger weight and bigger muscles and tendons to move that bigger weight.

      Happy low carbing

2big - thanks for the info. That is something I never thought about (the denser bones and larger muscles). Do you know if your bones grow less dense with weight loss? This is interesting to know.

for yor bones to lose calcium you'd need to be calcium deficient or in menopause as a female and be develpoing osteoporousis

there is somew calcium loss with any weight loss program but it stops after a few weeks but it isn't enough to show up on a bone dnesity test.

Eastern bloc countries used to use weight gain as a training method ofr their female athletes
