Yep, it must be a US thing! Here if we feel like pumpkin in April, we just go to the local market and pick up a can of Libby's!

        Anyway here is the info:

        1/2 c. pumpkin 9.9 carbs, 3.6 fiber = 6.3 net carbs

                  Re: Pumpkin??

Unfortunately pumpkin does not seem to be sold in UK in a can - not even the stuff with added sugar is, let alone the plain variety which would be induction-legal.
We have to make do with rinsing the 'light syrup' off tinned rhubarb instead and hoping it isnt too carby!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

                    Re: Pumpkin??

We don't have pumkin in a can, but we have an overabundance of REAL pumkin...

So one cup of REAL pumpkin cubes is what... 10 net carbs?

                      Re: Pumpkin??

According to fitday, one cup of cubed raw pumpkin has about 7 net carbs - a good way of getting 'most of your net 20 carbs' from vegetables.

I have never seen pumpkin in a can either ( being an aussie like Dot ) However -- it will be here pretty soon no doubt --- I SAW CHEESE IN A SPRAY CAN IN THE SUPERMARKET TODAY! ( cheese wiz?)

I get butternut pumpking DOT and cook that up, mash it with pepper and butter -- yumm - -also make it into pumpkin soup .

Rhubarb is great stewed up with some splenda with whipped cream for dessert -- i used to live on fruit so this really hits the spot ( even though it is a VEGE!)

                            Remember, Butternut squash

is not a summer squash so is on the second (higher) veggies OWL rung.
