I just got back from a 2-week vacation, during which I moved from OWL directly to the lifetime maintenance phase - this is recommended in one of the Atkins books.
To be honest, I didn't monitor what I was eating at all, as I did the previous 5 weeks on Atkins with Fiday.com. And apart from all the allowed foods of all rungs I also ate forbidden foods ... and cheated a few times (yeah... shame on me).
I was quite concerned that I would have gained back 4 - 5 lbs (or my sugar levels would have changed) - visiting my folks usually has a massive impact on my eating behaviour and habits - but to my surprise when I got on the scale yesterday morning I didn't gain at all, I actually lost almost 2 lbs and my levels are as before the holiday.
I guess all of the walking around, swimming and light aqua fitness kept my metabolism going strong. This is very encuraging. Yet, I believe it's best to get back on track with a week of Induction to kick start ketosis again and then move on to OWL.
