  • Hot 4C Morning Orange!

In an effort to satisfy my hot-beverage craving and cut out even my decaf coffees (splendas and heavy cream do add up carb & calorie-wise!), I had initially tried hot Crystal Light lemonade. This is wonderful tasting, but I started getting fierce, dizzying headaches from it. I have since then cut out aspartame in almost every form (especially hot), but still had not found a good coffee/tea substitute.

Well, in a moment of desperation (freeeeeezing cold office all the time), I made my 4C Morning Orange (splenda sweetened) with hot water. It's not too shabby. Doesn't taste quite as good as the hot CL lemonade, but doesn't make my head feel like it's splitting open either. I believe that Splenda is safe for heating, so for those of you who need a hot beverage on a rainy day (or in an ultra air conditioned office), it's worth a try.

Totally of the subject - but Titian, what kind of dog do you have in your pic? lol

Heh - she's half mastiff, half greyhound. We had a (way too) pedigreed English Mastiff before, and the congenital issues he had were heartbreaking. He had been too closely linebred and after 4 years and $15k of surgeries, we had to put him down. I swore that the next dog I got would be at least 2 years old (to avoid unseen genetic issues) and a mixed breed. So we adopted our lovely Lucy last year and have been delighted. She's super sweet, wonderfully obedient, and looks big and scary so bad guys might be a little disuaded.

Oh that's awesome! Lucy looks like such a sweety! We just lost our bullmastiff to cancer :-( she was 9.

I'm now starting to get the point where I want another dog. I miss having my big scary super sweet baby dog who was always right next to me just like that! The doorbell ringing just isn't the same!

I loved watching the pizza guy jump off the porch lol. Hmmm.... maybe there's a diet tip in that! haha
