  • IS splenda ice cream allowed on dairy?

It probably is... but I was just wondering. I'm a little over a week away from moving up to rung 2, dairy. My plan is to do cottage cheese the first week and then yogurt and cottage cheese the second week. But if I handle it alright I was hoping that on the 7th day of the 2nd week... I can't believe I'm planning this menu that far ahead... anyway I'm wondering if it would be ok to try a splenda ice cream cone at Friendly's??

And if so, do I have to introduce it 3 times/week to gauge whether or not it will trigger bad cravings or to gauge its effect on my weight loss? Or is it ok to let it be an occasional thing. It's just that we used to go out for ice cream all the time and it's a favorite treat and now I know that even on my cheat days I cannot have the real stuff... but it'd be great to have a substitute for an occasional ice cream (like once/month). Or do they just have way too many carbs to even allow on OWL??? I can't find nutritional info for it anywhere.

    Thanks for the insight...

I would contact them and ask what ingredients are in it just to make sure.
Saying it is splenda sweetened does not neccessarily mean it is sweetened only with splenda and the other sweeteners used might be not allowed on Atkins. Plus there might be some other odd ingredient!
They have a 'contact' page with phone number and a form you can fill in to send a message to them here

Thanks, I've never been the girl to bother companies or restaurants about "what's in the dish" so this is all new to me. I'll find out and report back!

I doubt the cone will be legal at all. Even if the ice cream is.

People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

          Good thought, Sunny!

If the icecream itself is 'legal' ask to have it in a tub and not in the cone to avoid the temptation of 'inadvertantly' taking a few bites of it!!
