Its too early I can't remember brands but I know some have sugar alcohols and some do not. Just because it has low net carbs some people have to watch the sugar alcohols. My kids like to make it for me at home.

You need 2 coffee cans that fit inside each other like the 1 nad 3 lb cans. In the smaller one put your cream splenda and what ever flavors you want.
Put the lid on tight and set inside the bigger can. pack with ice small amount of water and 1/4 cup of salt. Put lid on tight
2 children face each other on the floor and roll cn back and forth to each other for 10 mins.
    Out comes awesome ice cream.

thanks for all the replies! I can't wait to try the mint chocolate chip! Oh and using the 1/2 cup to eat out of is PERFECT for me! You all are awesome! Thanks!

P.S. ink - Also eating the bars will keep me from pigging out!

        ice cream

majority of these low carb ice creams have splenda in them and I can't do splenda because it gives me a headache :yikes so are there others that don't have splenda that I can try and not be over the carb limit

And some of them have actual sugar in them...don't count on the big "splenda" logo on the front, you need to read the actual ingredient list! :yes

I also think the Bryers mint chocolate chip is very good. However, I just can't stick with the 1/2 cup portion.. It is too hard.. When I do buy ice cream now, I only buy the bars.. I like the carb smart fudge kind..and there is another kind, blue bunny carb freedom (from Walmart).. that I really like too!

              I make my own.

It takes alittle bit of work to do, but in a way that's good for me because then I'll respect it as an occasional treat, rather than an everyday food.

Oh man, ice cream was always my biggest addiction. I'm very much looking forward to when I get to the dairy rung because I would love to be able to have ice cream again - not a lot, but some.

I have had the Carb Smart Strawberry Ice cream - my fiancees dad bought it when he was doing atkins over a year ago - and it was sooo good! Didn't really care much for chocolate which is surprising - but it tasted so creamy! Looking forward to that

The mint Chocolate Chip is really the best there is in my opinion.. SOmething you do not want to have in the house at all times because it is so good you will want to eat it all the time....

Ben and Jerrys chocolate (low carb) beats Breyers hands down.

Are there any low-carb ice-creams available in the UK at all? Now that we're getting into the (slightly) better weather it would be great to have that option sometimes as a treat. I've seen people posting for Walmart and know that over here ASDA is part of that.

Or should I just buy an ice-cream maker and start making my own?

We have the breyers carb smart ice cream here in Sask Canada so it MUST be everywhere else in Canada that isn't in the boonies! Thing about these bars and ice cream is they are a POOR imitation of the real thing. I tried them once...ooops twice...and was disapointed both times. If I really have to have ice cream (which I don't) I will buy an ice cream maker.

Hmm, my BF who eats ice cream almost every single night, loved my low carb Bryers, he said it was better than the regular Breyers, much creamier. Normally he wont' touch anything sugar free. I guess its all a matter of personal taste. :yes

Not sure if I would say better, but I definitely thought it was just as good as regular in my opinion..

absolutely its a matter of taste, I found that they taste weak in flavor compared to the real thing. Which is good for me cause I won't be buying them anymore. These days, its Hunts splenda sweetened jello, or a little creamcheese, cocoa and splenda for insanity breakdowns.
