    Aya--how tall are you? Do you really need to be 115 pounds?? I sure know the agony of trying extra hard and still ending up gaining instead of losing. That is why I need this challenge so badly. I've tried everything BUT the thing that is finally going to get me to goal. I need to find that 'thing' and do it until goal.

    I've always written down every bite of food and every drop I drink in a food journal, so I know I'm being honest with myself. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get to goal and stay there.

    We will have the challenge in place by the first of the week.

      Hi Sunny

      Thanks for your response. I'm 5.5 so am within my range BUT I just feel icky in jeans (haven't worn them for ages since a 'your bum looks huge' comment ( ) and pants. I could definitely stand to lose 13 pounds. I also write down all food, which does help...or so I thought. I exercise quite a bit too but my body-type is soft, soft, soft. I changed jobs last year from one that was very active (I ate chocolate and sweets all the time and never worried) to one that's behind a computer a lot so if I'm not ultra-careful the pounds pile on. Plus my husband is skinny, a lover of eating out and bad foods!
      Okay, I'll pledge now to join your challenge next week even though I'm iffy. I need a good kick in the rear end!

      BTW, Sunny, I can't believe how much weight you've lost! Absolutely amazing, and you look wonderful in your picture.

        Thanks! Sometimes I can't believe it myself.

        Being over 30, you might have a real hard time getting to 115 pounds. I believe you will cure the soft, soft, soft body-type by hitting the exercise with a vengeance. No iffy stuff! You have to make up your mind and just do it! Your mind-set and positive attitude are all important.

          So I'm confused... when are we starting? I hope it wasn't yesterday because I had already had some nuts yesterday morning before I decided to do this! LOL
          Do we have someone to run the challenge??
          Started Atkins on December 8th, 2005

          Officially Re-Focusing on 12-28-09.

          Was, Am, Will be: 280/222/175ish.
          Started Dec 2005 and lost 105 lbs by mid 2006, maintained loss for the most part until 2009...then really let go & gained some back... lol

          so:
          Restart Progress:
          12/28/09 ~ 235.1
          01/04/10 ~ 229.0
          01/11/10 ~ 229.0 Grrrrr....
          (Induction= only 6lbs but lost 10 inches! yay)
          01/18/10 ~ 227.4
          01/5/10 ~ 226.8
          02/01/10 ~ 222.6

            Nope--we haven't started yet. We haven't heard back from some people, yet (Jimmy 48 ). It will start on MONDAY, if we can get things in gear. When the actually challenge begins, it will be posted in the miscellaneous challenge forum--I'll provide a link.
            I don't mind being the captain (?) but I need a co-captain. I am having surgery on October 17 and will be unable to sit or type for at least a week--maybe longer. Any volunteers for captain or co-captain???

            I will be staying totally legal the whole time. I bought tons of food and will be cooking it up in advance, because my sister that is coming down from Ohio to take care of me is an awful cook, and gags at the sight of fat or grease.

              Sunny, I sent you a pm about the challenge and what to do to get it started. If you need any more information, just let me know and I'll help all I can. Good idea to have a co-captin so you can work together on awards, reporting and motivation for the participants. I know you'll all do great, theres so much enthusiasm for this challenge!!

                Thanks--I got it just a few minutes ago. I think we'll get started this evening some time. I'm excited!

                Is it okay, after we post the challenge, to post on other forums inviting folks to come join us??? Like OWL & pre-maintainance forum or the Main Atkins Diet forum?

                  Great. You can post the challenge and the information that you want to go out to the participants in the challenge forum in its' own thread. Just let them know what it is, how to do it and who the contacts are and what the prize is so there is no confusion once it gets rolling.

                  You can also contact people who you think might want to join in pms letting them know to sign up on/by Monday. You might want to go into chat and let anyone know who might be in there.

                    Alright! Nobody's talking to me, so I'm playing by myself. I'm working on the challenge and as I always like to do, I start at the end and work my way back. I've made the award for the winner of the challenge! Wanna see??? It will have to be smaller, but I'm tired and going to bed now.

Sunny, I am not sure what you need me to do, but I'd be happy to be co-captain. Heck, I was the rabble rouser to start with, so I'd better be ready to get my hands dirty!

                            Let me know what I can do. Did we post the challenge in general Atkins to get the word out?

                              I wondered what happened to you! I thought maybe I offended you by jumping in and basically taking over! Glad that's not the situation!

                              I'd love to have you as co-captain! I posted in the OWL forum and thought I posted in the main Atkins forum, but can't find that one. I know I typed it up, maybe I never hit submit. Who knows??? The brain is getting old!

                              We still need to decide on awards. I was thinking about having a point system and award weekly awards according to how well each person keeps their commitments. Then at the end, an overall winner. I have made up a weekly winner button (there can be more than one) and an overall winner button. This would give everyone time to be a winner and everyone time to do better and catch up.

                              I've been thinking about extra credit weekly assignments (easy stuff) to boost points. I know everyone is busy, so that might not fly, but I'd like to pursue it. Something easy, like review what you're doing and write a post about what has helped the most for that week. The next week, something else...

                              I have also been thinking, since this runs for quite a while, how about after 30 days of sticking with the original pledges and giving them a good honest try, we have a review period to ditch what didn't work and substitute something else?? I know I gave up coffee for over a month and it didn't help anything for me. Since I added it back, I have started feeling better and have lost some of the pounds that popped up over the last while. It was a good idea that didn't work personally for me.
