  • I'm blowing it, I know it....

and I need help guys. I had to have an emergency heart cath about 1 month ago, and since then, I have felt very tired and sluggish. I have lost 40 pounds so far and have stalled as would expected, because I haven't had the energy to work out like I was in the beginning. I also have a part-time job on top of my full-time job, which is delivering newspapers at 2am, so that makes me even more tired. Throw in being a mom and a wife and you can see my cause for concern.

That's not the problem thoug - I have done the "just one bite" thing and now, I feel I have ruined everything. And I haven't done it just once, I have done it a few times. Last night, I ate an entire medium size McDonald's fries! I am just too tired to fix anything that is Atkins friendly, plus my husband is having a fit because I keep putting "those green things" on his dinner plate. I think he means veggies. Between being tired and not wanting to fight with him, I have just said "to **** with it" and started fixing him what he wants, and I either don't eat at all, or I have small plate of whatever I fixed for him.

Please tell me this is normal and that I can pick back up where I left off. I haven't gained any weight back...yet, but I know it's coming. Believe me, it's not like I sat down and ate a whole bag of Lays potato chips. But I haven't been diligent in removing the crust from my pizza, or the buns off my hamburgar if you know what I mean.

And if I can get it back in gear, should I start over at the Induction phase? I was on OWL and successfully eating 40 to 60 carbs a day in fruit and veggies and still losing 2 to 3 pounds a week.

I feel like I need a cleansing - have you ever felt that way?

Kat...YOU CAN DO IT! Those French Fries aren't going to kill you...but you gotta stop. What I would tell hubby is if you don't like it YOU cook dinner.. Take care of yourself..cause NO one else will do it for you!

Kat, Sandy is right. You have to take care of yourself first! With your recent medical procedure, your health is most important. It's never too late - there's been no harm, no foul so far so you can pick right back up where you left off.

And if your dh doesn't like "those green things" - feed him carrots! *eye roll* they can be such children, sometimes!

Truly - you've had amazing results so far and to go through that surgery and recovery and not gain - you're golden. You can do it!!

Go back to the first rung for a week, and then you can go back up. I think it's important to get back into ketosis, because then the cravings will diminish, and your blood chemistry will be right on!

          you can do it!
          Start date: 7/29/2007

          Scale: SW:235 CW:193

Tape Measure: I've lost 42.5 inches as of 3/15/2008

          I survived a two-month stall!

Re: I'm blowing it, I know it....

This is where you sit your man down and you lay it on the line for him. (Guys... don't me here) .... Men don't hear things or see things the same way we do. You're going to have to sit him down and tell him exactly what you need from him to feel like he's supporting you.

If he's pitching a about what you're cooking for dinner, then you and fix dinner for you and the kids and let him get his own. He doesn't get to be over something he didn't get off his lazy to fix!! - Can ya tell that's an I've had in my house more than once?

You've got some real health issues that have to take priority. Those french fries are NOT going to get you where you need to go. In the time it took someone to to McD's to get , you could have fixed a couple of scrambled , thrown in some salsa and turkey and cheese and had something that tasted amazing AND makes your stronger and your smaller.

If you take an hour after grocery shopping and cut up your veggies and put them in containers, you will buy yourself tons of time and remove tons of excuses out of the rest of your week. While you're cutting those veggies up, throw some eggs on the stove so you have hard boiled eggs for the week.

Sit that man of yours down and have him go through Linda's recipe site with you to pick out some meals that are legal for you but don't have him being a big baby about what you're eating.

The "one bite' rationalization put 19lbs back on my butt all too recently. Take it from me. Knock it off!! You're not doing yourself or anyone else any good!

            The suggested plan:

            1. the man in the butt over what's going on the table. If he doesn't like it, he can make his own.

            2. Sit down at the with the man and go through Linda's recipes and other recipes so you can figure out together what works for your

            3. Plan out your menus, go shopping, do the prep work. It'll save you TONS of time over the course of the week AND keep you on track.

            4. Take a breather and be kind to yourself. We are mom's. We are .

Re: I'm blowing it, I know it....

Well, I actually felt like working out on Tuesday, so I did 12 miles between the eliptical machine and the bike and I felt really good afterwards.

I am trying to get my eating back on track. Been having lots of fresh veggies and protein at meal times, and using fruit as a snack.
