  • How much time do you give it?

    I'm on rung 2 (dairy). This past week I added 2/3 of a cup of Fage full fat yogurt, which is between 4.5 and 5 carbs. I did this on 3 days. I gained a pound. I didn't gain any inches, but I didn't lose any either. TOM is not a factor - it has never affected my weight. It's only one week, but now I'm confused as to what I do next. Do I stay right where I am, adding 5 carbs of dairy 3 days a week to see if I lose next week? If so, I want to keep trying yogurt, because it's the only thing on the dairy rung that holds much interest for me. Or do I drop back to rung 1? That doesn't seem right to me since it's only been a week, but I've never done OWL (last time I did Atkins I did extended induction). FWIW, I lost 9 lbs. on induction and 2 to 2.5 lbs. a week in the 3 weeks I spent on rung 1, so Atkins is working well for me.

    carry on for another week... see how it goes, our bodies are strange things... if you gain again or stall you may need to cut it out until maintenance.

      Also, if you think it's the yogurt, then drop it for a few days and see what happens. If you start losing weight again, then you know yogurt is a problem food. However, the light at the tunnel might be that this particular brand of yogurt is a problem for you. I can only eat 1 brand of ricotta cheese, because all the others caused my weight loss to stop.
