  • Worried about calories on OWL

    Hi,

This is my 4th week on OWL Rung 1 and I have done pretty good getting my total net carbs up to about 23-26 and have increased my net veggie carbs to about 16-18. I am still eating mostly salad veggies (spinach, cucumber, mushroom, celery) with fresh tomatoes, broccoli, green beans, cauliflower etc.

However, for the last 2 days I have only eaten 1150-1400 calories per day because I am just so FULL. Percentages from fitday are still fine but I know that going this low on calories can slow weight loss. Prior to this, I usually was around 1700-1800.

    Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated.

    Pam

Relax. As you become smaller, you require less food. Also as long as you are listening to your body and only eating the amount of food to satisfy your hunger, it won't let you starve. On days when I'm more active, I eat more. On days I'm less active, I eat less.

One of the problems with the caloric intake calculators is that they don't account for daily activity level changes.

I am sort of the same as you Pamela a lot of the time. My daily intake can fluctuate between as low as 1400 to as high as 1900 or a bit more calories. It's generally somewhere in the middle. But I am eating as much as I want to and am never particularly hungry, unless its just before a meal.

I can tell you though, that there is NO coorelation between the amount of calories I ate in the last day or two and my weight loss. It is traveling at its own pace and once I'm eating right just does its own thing.
