  • Green Tea Extract?

As previously said in another bulliten, I mentioned i've been feeling bloated and very full lately.
I remembered that just recently i began taking green tea extract pills daily in hopes of helping my digestion along.
It hasn't really done much unfortunately however, i've had a lot more energy so i've continued taking them.
What I didn't consider is maybe this is causing my bloat?
Anyone ever take green tea extract and suffer common side effects?

I don't know what else to do as far as going to the bathroom (number two) regularly.
I, about once a week, will take a laxative just to go but I hear your body can become dependant on it so i don't want to do that anymore.
I've read bullitens saying things about psyllium husks but those seem to have too many carbs and plus, i can't ever find them at the store.

Is there anything else i can try that will help me with this and won't make me bloated like the green tea extract may be doing?

    thanks.

    Re: Green Tea Extract?

    Here's some information for you:

    For daily fiber supplementation
Chapter 8: "I recommend that you take one tablespoon of psyllium husks daily. Be sure to select a sugar-free product. You can also take one tablespoon of coarse wheat bran or flaxseed meal."

    For relief of constipation
Chapter 11: "If you are constipated, mix a tablespoon or more of psyllium husks in a cup or more of water and drink daily. Or mix ground flaxseed into a shake or sprinkle wheat bran on a salad or vegetables."

So there is a limit set forth in the book. Again, if you use the flax as a food, then the On-Going Weight Loss phase is the appropriate phase to do that. During Induction it's only used as a fiber supplement or as a constipation reliever in the amounts specified in the book.

i take a psyllium supplement and it worked within a few days.
i could never go more than once a day (if at all) and now its pretty much after every meal, its so much better.
tried ground flax too but it didnt do much for me.
Date to reach goal: I don't care, as long as it happens :P

The fibre in psyllium cancels out the carbs, it's pure fibre so not to worry.

I will agree with everyone else here, either psyllium capsules (metamucil) regular unflavoured psyllium (bob's red mill makes some) that you will need to mix with a food or drink (yogurt, a smoothie or crystal light would work) . or ground flax are your best bet. You need to drink at least 8 glasses of water if you are supplimenting with psyllium or flax or it can make the problem worse.

Also what is your daily fibre intake? are you getting enough fibre through your veggies? That could be your problem. I've never heard of green tea causing bloating...
