    i borrowed the book from a friend who now has it back hence all the questions sorry ,i should have kept hold of it for a bit longer so i could use it for referance but thought id be ok

      going on the amount of veg i was allowed to have and advice id been given on amounts i should be having ,sorry i really should have kept the book for longer again sorry for all the silly questions

          hi
          im on rung 3 and im eating bout 50 g nuts a day now is this enough or should i up that ,also soon to be moving up to next rung ,how many berries should i be eating a day or should both the nuts and berries be every other day

              ok with strawberries thats half a cup a day, do you know how much half a cup would weigh ?

                100 grams of strawberries is 5.68 net carbs.

                  Nuts are the one food that does not follow the 5 net carb rule. According to Dr. Atkins nuts are limited to 1 ounce (28 grams) on OWL. With the exception of cashews, which are limited to 1/2 ounce (14 grams). So that 50 grams you are currently eating is almost twice the amount of nuts allowed on OWL.

                    should i halve the amount of nuts then ? my weight is not going up though and ive been eating 50g nuts a day for over 2 weeks

                      When you write your "weight is not going up", I presume that your weight isn't going down either. If that is the case, you might want to eat the proper amount of nuts and see what happens.

                        thanks ive packed my lunch today and ive halved the nuts ,ill try couple of weeks eating fewer nuts before moving up any more rungs

                          Where does soya flour fit in to the carb ladder? Would it be in legumes or whole wheats? The reason I ask is because I have an Atkins recipe book and it says that a certain recipe is ok for induction but it includes soya flour. So now I'm a tad confused!
