• I think I'm experiencing "PISS"

Week 1 of rung 1, I lost ok, but after week 2 of rung 1, no change.
I've only added pumpkin and cauliflower, but honestly I don't feel they are 'triggers', since they don't set anything off.

I'm positive I'm not over on carb count, and I'm getting enough calories, but I do have a cup of coffee in the morning that I'm planning on cutting out next week to see how that goes.

Not really concerned at this juncture (clothes are still way loose), but how long does a normal "PISS" episode last?

Re: I think I'm experiencing "PISS"

I don't think that not losing for one week is PISS. I have weeks when I don't lose at all and have found this to be normal. It might be a variety of things but I would cut out the coffee as a start. I personally don't eat pumpkin as it gave me cravings and was stalling my losses but many people on here eat pumpkin everyday with no issues.

Stay where you are with the things youve added for another week, see if you get a loss...

though you may find that theyre not triggers, your body still might not like them...

for example, berries didnt cause any triggers for me, they made my weightloss stall and sometimes gain, come to find out that i'm allergic to strawberries.

I have nothing insightful to add Bette, but I just wanted to let you know that I'm right there with you. My scale has been going up then down between 1-2 pounds for the past seven days. It's helpful for me to know that many other people have been here before--we can get through it as well!

Awesome! I'm not due to weigh again until Saturday morning, but I will let you know. It'll be 14 of no loss for me on Sat IF I haven't lost.
EDIT: TOM is upon me soon, so that'll be jackin' with me too...argh

Ah, the dreaded TOM. Well I will be pulling for you! Congrats on having far more willpower with the scale than I do. I'm a scale-a-holic.

Re: I think I'm experiencing "PISS"

I just went through 2 weeks of this - I was getting really frustrated, especially after losing so well on induction.

Thank God I just hung in there - I started thinking about things to cut out, add, change, less calories, more calories, less or more fat - too much cheese?

I decided to just keep on doing what I was doing - I did 3 weeks of rung 1 and last week I lost 2 lbs - yay - this week I moved to rung 2 and have 3 lbs gone - so I seemed to have broken through.

Hang in there and just keep on going - something will happen -

No change again! But TOM is upon me, so giving it another week.
Did not have pumpkin or cauliflower this week. Had veggies I ate on induction only. Just like induction only the additional five.

Here's hoping it's the TOM syndrome.grrrrrrrrrrr

Re: I think I'm experiencing "PISS"

I just broke 3 1/2 weeks of not losing. Just stayed the same every day. I knew I was on the right track with exercise every day, 75 to 90 ounces of water and eating very carefully. If anything, I was not eating enough fat. I was determined to power through it, and sure enough, I lost 3 pounds this week. What a struggle! Don't be discouraged, your body is just sorting things out. It happens to lots of people, and it is no fun. I felt an extra sense of achievement at having worked at it and winning!

I agree, just some reprogramming going on and I know I'm making the right food choices and not gaining. I think something else may be going on too, (TMI altert) I was convinced I was starting TOM, but nope.. nada, about four days late. I think I'm doing the pre menopausal thing! Have been like clockwork recent months. If that's the case, that's going to be fun addition to "PISS" lol

I wonder if I am going through PISS too, TOM ended on Friday and I am still at the same weight so basically no loss so far in two weeks. I guess I'm not really counting last week (TOM) but thought something would've happened by now.

I'm being patient though not panicking yet, my eating is on point and I'm killing the water so I'm doing what needs to be done. Just gotta wait until my body is ready to move.

Re: I think I'm experiencing "PISS"

I have not posted for quite a while, but I am still on the program and loving it. I am losing VERY slowly - about a pound every 2 weeks, but I am perfectly happy with it. I am down 3 - 4 sizes!! So the inches mean everything. I am shopping in my own closet now because I have some very nice stuff in smaller sizes and can now wear them again. I am walking 45 minutes 5 days a week. I had plantar facilitis in one of my feet and it is now gone. I feel fantastic. I have no cravings and am eating well. I have moved up most rungs (no grains as I am losing slowly enough that I don't even want to go there). I have had no corn, potatoes, flour, bread, pasta etc since December and it really does not bother me.

The big challenge? I'm going on a 2 week vacation to London, Scotland and Ireland the end of this month - I will do my very best to stay on track, but Ireland? No potatoes?

I still have 30 pounds to go, but I'm confident I'll get there.

I am so glad I read this as am feeling a bit discouraged today. I also have lost nothing in two weeks despite sticking to plan on a vacation (I was so hoping for a loss when I got back).

I am going to continue what I am doing and hope to ride it out.

Re: I think I'm experiencing "PISS"

I just wanted to add...everyone losses at a different rate. For me, when I first start Atkins (and I've restarted 86476387 times. LOL) I will lose between 7-12 the very first week and then nothing for the rest of the month! Then, I will begin to lose again. I also find that what ever I lose the first week is what I can expect to lose every month after. I also have never gotten close my my goal so I know when I do this time, I will definately slow down. But this is what my personal trend is. Hope this helps!

For example....
Week 1...10 pound loss
Week 2... no loss
Week 3...no loss
Week 4...no loss * Total Loss MOnth one..10 pounds
Week 5..3 pounds
Week 6 1.5 pounds (TOM)
Week 7 3.0 pounds
Week 8 2.5 pounds * Total loss MOnth 2....10 pounds

Of course I fluctuate but this is in general how it works for me. Please do not get discouraged. Take your measurements and I would follow those more closely than anything. Good Luck!!!
