I don't know how many of you have seen this silly movie, but basically it fastforwards your life, yet you have no memory of the time elapsed. Oh, how I wish I had one of these remotes. I wouldn't really care what I missed in a few months, I just want to be happy in my own skin.

It feels like I have been on this diet -forever- yet, it's only been 6 weeks. How long have you been on Atkins, and how do you stay motivated?

Motivation is key for me. I have ADD and if I lose focus, I might as well start gaining my weight back now.

I am a bit ADD myself and I view going forward like that movie to be a detriment. Even though we want to be at our goal weight and look good, if we have no memory of what we learned, we wouldn't know what to do! I would be afraid to eat because I wouldn't know the right thing to eat. I wouldn't know what my body wanted or needed if I had no memory of what I did to get there. Plus, think of all the people your hard work would have inspired along the way. I have one girl in class who doesn't even need to lose weight say she wanted to start eating like me because I always have such good, healthy food.

Many times I say to myself "What if I went back to when I was 20 and started all over again." It could be great but it could be a disaster. We wouldn't be who we are today and I definitely wouldn't have the daughter I have. Even though I would have avoided many things, the trials we go through make us who we are. They make us smarter and wittier along with being more compassionate.

That being said I do have to say "I WISH I WAS AT GOAL NOW!" lol.

I couldnt agree more porcelain! I wish everyday that I was already at goal and that I could just skip ahead but also I think, I want to remember how hard I fought to get there too, or else I wouldnt appreciate it.

I too, sometimes wish I could go back to 17 and go from there, but ONLY if I could take my memory with me! I have come through too much to be the person I am today.

As much as I wish I could just skip this step and go straight to the "skinny" I want to have to work for it too, otherwise, it wouldnt mean anything and I wouldnt have learned how to maintain it. Id just end up fat again.

I want to have that awesome testimony that inspires others when I say "I've lost 100 lbs and you can too!"

Two things have been vital to my motivation. One is doing the challenges here. There is always a Monday (or whatever day) coming up soon and that keeps me in line.

The second is always having a pair of jeans or something that doesn't quite fit. As soon as it does I go out and buy a smaller pair.

my motivations are 1) health / developing an eating plan that keeps my weight consistent and keeps me satisfied, 2) loving how i look in the mirror and feel healthwise, and 3) i want to meet my goal measurements! (goal is... 38-28-35) ... i'm pretty close to those measurements as it is, except for the waist, but if i hit goal and start toning i have something realistic to work toward.
