I bought the best most accurate digital scale I could find because the old one I have 'floats' a bit too much for my liking. I wanted the most accurate record of weight loss available so I got this one. When I was at my heaviest my scale read 230. It says now 180. Buuutt... if I move around or wiggle the weight floats around. So now I've got this scale that says 192 when I step on it. It upsets me because now I have to readjust my goals, ect and I feel like I've just gained the 12 lbs I had 32 days ago. I know a new scale is a necessessary evil but I'm discouraged because of the blasted thing. I guess if I look at it another way... how much exactly did I weigh the first time around? My total weight lost may be more than I thought it was. Hmmm. Guess its best I got it now instead of four months down the road.

Re: Just bought a new scale. I'm not happy
I had just the same thing happen when I went to the doctor and found I was weighing 10 pounds heavier than 10 minutes previously at home in exactly the same clothes!
It turned out my scales were weighing 10 pounds lower, so I must have been at least 10 pounds heavier than I thought I was when I started Atkins.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: Just bought a new scale. I'm not happy
I just upgraded scales too. My new one weighed me 2 lbs heavier. Not to horrible. I just waited for those 2 lbs to go and kept on going-not much fun tho! but your right, you were heavier to begin with. Your progress is just the same so don't get discouraged!Halo-M Dairy Goats

Re: Just bought a new scale. I'm not happy
I am almost at a milestone with stupid scales. I weigh under 200 when I weigh at home in the morning, naked as a jaybird. I weighed today at the doctor's office, mid day and fully clothes, 201. So I am hoping by the time I go back in two weeks I will be in onederland there too!
Have you ever kicked your scale?

Re: Just bought a new scale. I'm not happy
Similar story here...starting weight from MIL scale...2 weeks of clean Induction & weighed at my doctors office & it was the same as MIL scale. Of course I couldn't weigh at her house as she lives in PA about 500 miles south of me.
Who knows what I really weighed & how much I really lost in those 2 weeks. Still weigh in at the doctors...won't/don't own a scale. I love my tape measure though!!!!

Re: Just bought a new scale. I'm not happy
I've had the same scale for a couple years now...and it weighs 5-7 lbs lighter than most scales...but I'm still sticking by my scale because I remember how I looked when I was at my goal on my scale and was pretty satisfied.....Going to the Dr just depresses me because it is about 10 lbs heavier.......I've just learned to not rely on the scale and focus on inches lost...even though it is tough to do sometimes. Don't beat yourself up over it. You still have lost weight and are doing wonderfully!!

Re: Just bought a new scale. I'm not happy
I recently went to the doctor as well and weighed 5 lbs more on their scale than mine at home... but I was fully clothed. So I'm hoping my scale is accurate... it seems to be pretty good.
Just FYI, I bought it a couple years ago and it's a Weight Watchers (haha) scale... it's awesome.22/f/5'10"
