ugh..just a mindless winey vent coming.....
I am being 100% GOOD..No cheats..no sweeteners other than occasional ( and I mean Occasional) splenda, caffene is pretty much Non existant...exercise, water, vegies.......and NO loss in lbs or inches in 3 weeks-
I just got out of bed and cried...I feel like I am giving up so much for so little- Not that food is the end all for happiness cause its not- but I do miss the thought of having a french fry every now and then or an ice cream cone- and without any loss its just a real smack in the face STill no poop either :<(

      Re: Week 3 No loss

I am having a very frustrating day too. I cried after buying a swimsuit. My nerves are shot and I can't stand to be around people. I wanted to scream in Target. Used to when I would go out to buy clothes I would get really depressed and I would go eat. Well, I did that today too, but for different reasons. Today, I ate but I ate everything on plan. I had a hamburger patty with swiss and sauteed mushrooms, boiled shrimp, and sliced tomatoes. I did this because if I ate off plan or went off plan, I would never lose that weight. I would never get to a point where I felt good about trying on clothes. I know Atkins works. Just because it doesn't happen as fast as I would like it to happen, isn't the diet's fault. I know it will eventually work and it will work the fastest if I don't cheat. So, I don't. The Atkin's diet is the best diet I have ever been on. This time I am doing it right and I am not giving up because the alternative is too scary for me because I know no other diet will work as well for me. I want those things too, in fact, I smelled a brownie for like 30 seconds last night, just held it in my hand and smelled it until my husband offered to eat it. I handed it over and he ate it and I felt no remorse for that brownie. It just isn't worth it. There is one guy here on the board that decided that if he was going to eat something like that, he would do it naked and in front of the mirror. He quickly learned which item was more important to him and he lost (not sure exactly) about 100 pounds. I know it sounds like I am preaching but today I am really down and just like you, I have to make a decision right now because I can actually still smell that brownie. I have to decide what is more important to me, that food or my body. Today is another day I decide to choose my body. I hope you do too.

You've lost 37 pounds. That is a great acheivement. I took pictures in the swimsuit I got and even though I look a lot better, I still think I look horrible. I am hoping I am just PMSing but I get so down sometimes. But I know one thing for sure, I can do this...we can do this. I am just going to keep on keeping on. That is what is so great about this board, when you get down like this, there are others who lift you up. Hopefully tomorrow will be better and then Monday, I'm going to Disney, lol.

What OWL Rung are you on? And how many carbs are you eating?

Review your menues and review your food measurement technique. Sometimes when you are on OWL and get very comfortable "estimating" your portions, you might be overestimating them, so get out the measuring cups and spoons and really measure your foods for the next few days.

If you do all that and still nothing, you might be in a legitimate stall. But don't worry! Don't look at it as a set back, but as your body taking some time "off" to adjust to all the changes you've made...let's face it, you lost 37 pounds. That's alot of weight (if you don't believe me, go to the garden center tomorrow and try lifting a 40 pound bag of compost!) So let your body adjust and as soon as it's ready, you'll start losing again. The absolutely WORST thing to do is become so demoralized that you'll go off plan and undo all of what you've accomplished.

                Re: Week 3 No loss

Hi, mom23girls. I feel your pain. I started on 1/2/08 have only lost 14 pounds, granted I only had 40 lbs. to lose. I frequently go 3 weeks without loss of pounds or inches then bam I get on the scale and have dropped a whopping 2 lbs. It just takes time to lose what we have put on over years. Be patient and stay on plan.

Your really need to up your veggie net carbs. It is very important or you won't find your CCLL. I know how frustrating it is too. You don't know if you are at CCLL or in a stall. Stay at a certain level for at least 3 weeks if nothing happens then drop back down by five and see if things start moving. You can damage your metabolism by eating too few carbs for extended amounts of time. We just have to take it slow. Try eating the higher carb veggies. I use canned pumpkin quite a bit to get my carb level where it should be. It is pretty good with a bit of heavy cream, splenda and cinamon in it. Doesn't have to be heated either. 1/2 cup has 4 grams net carbs
                with 5 grams fiber.

Good luck on you LC journey.

                    Re: Week 3 No loss

I have so been there. February was the worst month.. I gained and lost or just stayed the same and it was so frustrating. But I know how this diet is and if you get past that very normal hesitation time, you will start losing again.
If you can (and I can't) just weigh yourself once a week as that really looks better. If you can't do that, only make the first day of the week as "what counts" day and that helps.
