on the second week i add one item from the second group (10 net carbs)

During OWL you only add 5 net carbs of food from the Rungs. So for Rung 1, you add 5 net carbs of any of the Induction vegetables. When you move to Rung 2 you add 5 net carbs of those foods. The only exception is the Nut/Seed rung, on that one you add 1 ounce of most nuts or seeds: cashews are limited to 1/2 ounce.

And you can also take it as slow as you like as well...doesn't have to be weekly, you can stay on a run for a couple of weeks etc until you see if you have any issues.

        I have a question????

So let's say I want to skip right to the other cheeses and nuts?

For example today I have cottage cheese and macadamia nuts, is this okay?

You should probably stick to the additional 5 grams veggies on rung 1 for the first couple of weeks. Adding different veggies that perhaps you didn't eat during induction. I added pumpkin, tomatoes, cucumbers etc. I actually spent 3 weeks on rung 1 just trying different new veggies. Also making a concerted effort to keep my carb count at 20 net grams per day. I am on the second week of rung 2 dairy. This time making every effort to make sure my net carbs are at 25 grams per day. If you know dairy is a problem then you could skip it and go to the nut rung keeping your daily nut addition to the 1 oz amount. Doing 3 days every other day each week for the different nuts just to be sure you don't have issues with any of the nuts. With all the different nuts available it should actually take several weeks to cover all the nuts.

I would expect there was some reason that Dr. A. had in mind for the order of the rungs. Veggies being the safest addition of carbs. then dairy being the next safest and so on. Keep in mind a lot of people have problems with dairy. Even though a person might have problems with dairy from cows doens't necessairly mean that person will have problems with diary from goats.

Grains being the most likely to cause problems for the most people he put last. The rungs are to help you determine if you have issues with foods so you will know what foods you can safely eat.
