    Surgery & Advice Needed

Next week, I will be having surgery on my mouth and gum area which will limit me for a week or so to liquids and soft foods. Besides the usual stuff like yogurts, jello and shakes, I need ideas....

What would be good to eat and how do I get in my protein?

    Thanks!

Here's a few ideas off the top of my head:

    chicken broth
    egg salad
    tuna salad - maybe?
    scrambled eggs
    cottage cheese
make some kind of pumpkin custard

    Good luck!

You can also make a mousse out of meat (salmon and chicken or turkey work well).

Below is the basic recipe for a salmon mousse. You can use chicken instead, just adjust the herbs and seasonings. And you can substitute broth or water for the wine.

try a easter recipe from our collection of brunch recipes, including our salmon mousse recipesalmon mousse recipe.

How about protien shakes? I sometimes make a "smoothie" with protien powder, canned pumpkin, a little cream and/or egg and some splenda and it's delish!

          Great idea!

I think I will be doing a lot of shakes and adding a few things. For the most part my diet has to be liquid and after a few days, soft foods. Any skakes/brands you like better? I have never bought any.
