  • Avocado

I have been eating for the past 2 days Egg Creams with 1/2 Haas Avocado in them for breakfast.

Here is the egg cream I have been eating:

    1/4 cup heavy cream
    1/2 Haas black skin Avocado
    2 egg yolks
    1 whole egg
    2 oz of fresh Papaya

Can we have avocados on a daily basis or would that cause a stall

I was getting bored of the cooked eggs, etc. and just love the egg creams and with all of the above they keep me full until lunch time. I find the Avocado does the trick for me. Minus the Avocado I am starving within the next 1/2 hour.

What rung are you on? Just curious as to why you are eating papaya. Isn't that way up there on the fruits rung?

      Re: Avocado

You are allowed the 1/2 of an avocado every day, even on induction. I don't know what rung you are on, but other than berries & melon, 'other fruit' is rung 7. A 1/4 cup of cream is a lot of cream carb wise and calorie wise.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

        Re: Avocado

That's what you mean by "egg cream". When I read your thread about almond milk, I thought you were talking about a New York egg cream (traditionally made with chocolate syrup, seltzer water and milk.)

If you use a 1:1 heavy cream to water mixture you approximate something close to milk. It will also cut down on the heavy cream amount. Also, avocados are pretty creamy themselves, especially if you puree them. So you might be able to cut down on the cream further.

I plugged your recipe into fitday.com to check the nutrient info:
        total cal 569
        fat 53 grams , 84%
        carbs 13 grams 5%
        fiber 5 grams
        protein 15 grams 11%

What Rung are you on and what's your CCLL?
